I have been working in healthcare since 2007, working as a certified nursing assistant taking care of elderly patients in long term care facilities and home care. I later graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 2008 and continued to work in long term care facilities caring for the elderly. I graduated as a Registered Nurse from Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing and went on to taking care of patients ranging from young adults to geriatric with acute conditions, stable chronic conditions and complex medical conditions. In 2018, I graduated as a Nurse Practitioner and worked with patients post cardiac surgery, critically ill patient in the intensive care unit and a mix of neurology, neurosurgery, general surgery, vascular surgery and medically unstable psychiatric patients. After experiencing postpartum, with my extensive medical background, I decided to pursue a degree in Psychiatry to help more people goring through what I went through. I graduated with my PMHNP from Western Connecticut State University in 2025. Through my education, I was able to provide care for patients, both stable and acute, with depression, ADHD, PTSD, Anxiety, and mood disorders.
With over 15 years of experience in human services, I am a dedicated and compassionate social worker committed to supporting individuals through life’s most challenging moments. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of New Haven and my Master of Social Work from Fordham University.
Throughout my career, I have held leadership roles and developed extensive experience in crisis intervention, community engagement, and client advocacy. I understand that reaching out for support can feel overwhelming, and I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered.
I am a board-certified adult psychiatrist with more than 22 years of experience providing compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care in inpatient, outpatient, consultation-liaison, and telepsychiatry settings.
Throughout my career, I have helped adults struggling with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, panic disorder, trauma-related conditions, somatic symptom disorders, and other complex psychiatric illnesses. I also specialize in the treatment of substance use disorders, including medication-assisted treatment with buprenorphine (Suboxone) for opioid use disorder.
My philosophy is simple: every patient is unique, and treatment should be personalized. I combine comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, medication management, supportive psychotherapy, lifestyle and nutritional counseling, and when appropriate, pharmacogenomic (genetic) testing to help identify medications that may be most effective while minimizing side effects.
I believe mental health is closely connected to physical health. My whole-person approach addresses emotional well-being, sleep, nutrition, exercise, stress management, and healthy lifestyle habits to promote lasting recovery and resilience.
I am passionate about helping clients cultivate greater balance, vitality, and overall well-being in their lives. I have experience working with individuals facing a wide range of mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, trauma, bipolar disorder, OCD, ADHD, disordered eating, substance use disorders, and insomnia. I earned my degree from Hunter College in New York City, where I developed a strong foundation in evidence-based, client-centered care.
I am a psychiatric nurse practitioner with a broad background in sociology. In my approach to treatment, I explore how culture, gender, and identity intersect with personality and neurochemical imbalances to produce psychiatric symptoms that impede daily functioning and interpersonal activities. Together with my clients, we determine the best pharmacological interventions to provide relief of these symptoms. I offer psychiatric evaluations, medication management, assessment for post-traumatic stress disorder, Connecticut state registration for eligible clients for medical marijuana, and Suboxone treatment.
I work with adults (26 - 64 years old) to improve the quality of their lives through a collaborative process in which client and provider together devise treatment plans that combine medication and behavioral modification. I am especially interested in men's mental health, but I work with all adults regardless of their gender identity.
