My name is Twyla Terry-McCarrell, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Dallas, Texas, serving clients across Texas, Oklahoma, and Georgia via telehealth. I hold a master’s degree in counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary and specialize in trauma-informed therapy. I help adults navigate and heal from experiences of abandonment, anxiety, depression, grief, PTSD, and CPTSD. My practice is dedicated to creating a safe, compassionate space where you can explore your story, reclaim your voice, and move toward lasting recovery.

I consider it a great privilege to be entrusted to journey alongside others and offer support as they navigate and make sense of their life’s journey. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in both Tennessee and Georgia, I am passionate about working with teens and adults who are combating issues related to anxiety, depression, trauma history, low self worth, and other stressors. I have been working in the field of social work for 4 years and practicing clinically for 2 years.

As a General (Adult) and Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist, I am passionate about empowering all ages on their journey towards mental health and well-being.

I completed a residency in General Psychiatry and fellowship in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at Georgia's prestigious medical college, one of the oldest medical schools in the nation. This expert, specialized training has equipped me with the skills and knowledge to understand the unique psychological needs of children, adolescents, and adults.

I am a Board Certified Psychiatrist, Board Certified Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist, and am also a Board Certified Pediatrician (triple-trained in General Pediatrics, General Psychiatry, and Child/Adolescent Psychiatry). I completed a pediatrics residency at NYC’s only academic Children’s Hospital in Brooklyn, SUNY Downstate, with additional pediatric and psychiatric internships at Brooklyn’s Maimonides Medical Center.

I graduated with my medical degree (Doctorate) with clinical accolades from New York’s oldest osteopathic medical school, NYIT.

My educational background is in both Clinical and Community Psychology. I conceptualize and intervene with clients with an understanding of individual and environmental contributing factors. Additionally, I have significant experiences working with people across the life span and in various settings. I bring this rich experience to my work with clients.
