Hi, I'm a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in Kentucky, working with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, and substance use. I know reaching out for therapy takes real courage, and my goal is to make our first conversation feel grounded and easy. When I'm not in session I'm usually writing, hiking, or keeping up with my grandkids — I believe therapy works best when it feels like a genuine human conversation, not a script. If you're looking for a warm, non-judgmental space to work through what's weighing on you.
I have spent the past 15 years helping adolescents and teens work to see beyond today. I am certified in Trauma Focused- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Multi-Dimentional Family Therapy, and Seeking Safety. As well as long practiced in Trauma Informed Care. I have received both my Bachelors in Psychology and Masters in Professional Counseling from Liberty University, and am currentlyy working towards completing a Doctorate in Traumatology from Liberty University. My trauma work originally stemmed from being a Marine Corps veteran, and witnessing the effects on my comrades. However, grew into youth work through becoming a part of the local education system. I now love working with kids to have a brighter view of their future.
You don't have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. Maybe you're feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, carrying grief that feels heavier than expected, struggling with ADHD, or simply trying to make sense of a difficult season in life. Whether you're an adult navigating life's challenges or a child learning how to express big emotions, therapy can be a place to slow down, feel understood, and discover new ways forward.
I'm a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a passion for helping individuals navigate anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and PTSD. I take a direct, participatory, and holistic approach — meaning I meet you where you are and work with you, not just for you. I offer virtual care so that quality mental health support is accessible no matter where you are.
I’m an LCSW with five years experience in the field. I received my BA and MSW from NKU. I primarily focus on delivering therapy to neurodivergent, adolescent and LGBTQIA+ populations.
Reaching out for therapy can feel intimidating — especially if you’re afraid of being judged, misunderstood, or unsure whether therapy will actually help. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, emotionally exhausted, stuck in unhealthy patterns, or like you’re barely holding things together on the outside, you’re not alone.
My approach is warm, direct, practical, and collaborative. I help clients not only process emotions, but also understand why certain patterns keep happening and how to create meaningful, lasting change. Together, we focus on building emotional awareness, healthier coping skills, nervous system regulation, and stronger relationships.
Many of my clients struggle with anxiety, perfectionism, emotional overwhelm, relationship stress, attachment wounds, self-esteem issues, or difficulty managing intense emotions. I work to create a space where clients feel safe, supported, understood, and empowered to move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
If any of this resonates with you, I’d be honored to support you in your healing process.
Hi, I am Marcie! I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have many years working in the mental health field in different roles. I am here to help provide counseling services for a variety of challenges including healing from past trauma, anxiety, depression, stress management, eating disorders, personality disorders, and behavioral issues.
Welcome, and thank you for reaching out.
Starting counseling is an important step, and I’m glad you’re here. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and confidential space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgment.
I bring over 25 years of experience working with individuals and families. I am currently a university professor and have been in higher education for the past 16 years. Prior to that, I spent 10 years investigating child maltreatment, which gave me extensive experience supporting individuals and families through difficult and often overwhelming life circumstances.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Kentucky with over 7 years of experience helping people navigate life when it feels messy, overwhelming, or just plain stuck. I earned my Master’s in Social Work and have spent my career walking alongside individuals as they find hope, healing, and a way forward through some of life’s toughest seasons.
I work with adults facing stress, anxiety, grief and loss, sleep struggles, and challenges with motivation, self-esteem, and confidence. I also have a strong background in supporting people in early recovery from substance use helping them build coping skills, stay grounded, and create real, sustainable change (not just quick fixes).
Outside of session, I practice what I preach: I focus on my own growth, stay active, and try to keep life in perspective which means I get the ups and downs that come with being human. I know starting therapy can feel intimidating, and I genuinely respect the courage it takes to show up. If you’re ready to do the work, I’m here to walk with you, challenge you when needed, and cheer you on as you build the life you deserve.

Headway helps you stay on track with expert-guided support for ADHD — from finding the right therapist or psychiatrist, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Finding ADHD therapists in Lexington starts with knowing what kind of support you want. Therapy for ADHD may focus on executive function skills, cognitive behavioral therapy for ADHD, emotional regulation, or support with planning and follow-through. Medication management is a separate service offered by psychiatrists and other qualified prescribers, and some people use therapy, medication management, or both. If you are searching for an ADHD specialist for adults, ADHD counseling, or support for a child or teen, look for a therapist whose profile lists ADHD experience with the age group and concerns that match your needs.
In a mid-sized city like Lexington, you may find a useful mix of local therapists and virtual options across the area. In-person appointments may work well if you prefer an office setting, while virtual sessions can expand your search beyond nearby offices and make scheduling easier. ADHD can also appear alongside concerns like anxiety, depression, work stress, or school challenges, so it can help to choose a therapist with experience across those areas. Before booking, read therapist bios for details on approach, availability, session structure, and whether a free phone consultation is offered.
ADHD therapy in Lexington can be a significant expense without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and understand what you may pay before care begins. Headway helps you search for therapists who are accepting new patients, enter your insurance details, and see estimated out-of-pocket costs before you book. You can compare therapists by specialty, appointment format, and availability, then book directly when you find a fit.
If you're already taking psychiatric medication and considering switching providers, talk to your current prescriber before changing or stopping any medication — most psychiatric medications shouldn't be stopped abruptly. Anyone experiencing thoughts of self-harm or in acute crisis should call 988 or go to the nearest emergency department rather than wait for an outpatient appointment.
