I am a dedicated and compassionate licensed independent clinical social worker with a Master's in Social Work from Boston University.
( I currently only provide medication management no individual therapy)
I am a dual-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with over 15 years of experience in healthcare. My background spans primary care, urgent care, and mental health, allowing me to approach each client with a comprehensive understanding of both physical and emotional well-being.
I specialize in diagnosing and treating a wide range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, trauma-related disorders, ADHD, and mood disorders. My practice focuses on providing evidence-based medication management paired with supportive, collaborative care. I believe in meeting clients where they are, empowering them through education, and tailoring treatment plans to their unique needs, preferences, and goals.
My approach is warm, non-judgmental, and holistic. I value building strong therapeutic relationships and creating a safe space where clients can feel heard, understood, and supported.
If you’re looking for compassionate, thorough, and personalized care, I’m here to help you take the next step in your mental health journey.
Hi there, my name is Charissa and I have been a therapist for 20 years. I have a masters degree in social work that has allowed me to build my practice on looking through a lens of cultural context and seeing a person within their environmental context as well. I like to work with adults and adolescents who are ready to look at themselves and make changes to better their lives by identifying barriers and focusing on small changes that will make a big difference.
Hello, I’m Cara, a licensed clinical social worker with a master’s degree in social work. My approach is warm, down‐to‐earth, and collaborative. I believe therapy works best when it feels genuine and human. Together, we’ll explore your experiences, build on your strengths, and use practical, evidence‐based tools like coping strategies, mindset shifts, and boundary work. I make space for humor and real connection, combining these skills with deeper exploration of patterns, self‐compassion, and emotional insight to support lasting, meaningful change.
**Only accepting first responders/military/veterans/medical professionals/family members**
You’ve spent your life protecting others. Now it’s time to take care of yourself.
With over 23 years of clinical experience, I specialize in working with first responders, veterans, active-duty military, and family members—those who carry the weight of service, trauma, and high-stakes responsibility every day. Whether you’re dealing with critical incident stress, moral injury, grief, operational fatigue, or post-traumatic symptoms, this is a space where you can begin to offload, recover, and regroup—without judgment.
I offer a straightforward, confidential, and culturally competent approach grounded in mutual respect and trust. I understand that traditional therapy may not always resonate with those trained to "push through," so I tailor treatment to match your mindset and mission-oriented way of thinking.
If you're dealing with sleep disruption, emotional numbing, relationship strain, anxiety, anger, substance use or unresolved loss—you're not alone, and you don't have to carry it all by yourself.
I’m trained in evidence-based methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and trauma-informed care, but I always begin with connection—human to human. Sessions are goal-focused, direct, and geared toward resilience, restoration, and real-life tools that work.
You've stood on the front lines for others. When you're ready, I’m here to stand with you.
I’m an LCSW, and my practice name, Life Shift Happens, comes from a truth I see every single day: people don’t come to therapy because they’re broken. They come because life stopped unfolding the way they expected, and they feel entirely stuck. A lot of the humans I work with are incredibly thoughtful and trying so hard. They usually don't lack insight; they’ve read the coping skills and talked things through with friends. Yet, they still find themselves procrastinating, shutting down, or feeling completely frozen by past stuff. When that happens, change isn’t a matter of forcing more willpower. It requires slowing down to look at the patterns and defense mechanisms we build to protect ourselves when life gets heavy.
My style is collaborative, deeply conversational, and entirely human. I’m not here to judge, lecture, or pretend I have all the answers. Instead, I’m active in our sessions through asking questions, noticing patterns, and gently pushing back when I see you getting in your own way. We will work on the practical things like boundaries, follow-through, and managing emotions, while sitting with the messy overthinking, panic, burnout, or feeling checked out underneath it all. Therapy with me is a relationship where we make sense of the sudden crises and quiet paralyses that come with life shifts. The goal isn’t a perfect, flawless life, but rather a therapeutic space where you can figure out what changed, sprinkle in compassion, and learn how to move forward in a way that feels genuinely your own.
