Feeling caught up in your thoughts and unsettled and anxious? Struggling with relationships and finding enjoyment in life? Overwhelmed by trying to make changes, but unsure how to proceed?
I am a guiding presence focused on getting to know you and providing tools you can use to be able to build awareness, sit with the discomfort of your thoughts and feelings, and find a path forward. I have over 20 years of experience working with individuals who experience anxiety, depression, trauma, parenting challenges and unfulfilling relationships.
As a board certified psychotherapist, I believe prioritizing mental health is key to happiness and stability in life. Seeking help can be one of the hardest parts, so congratulations on taking that step! I’ve been practicing for 10 years, I work with a plethora of inter-generational clients aged 21-90 who are struggling with anxiety and depression and trauma.
As a chaplain, I take a psycho-spiritual approach and work with clients assisting with intercultural issues, blended family dynamics, religiosity challenges and grief & loss.
Hi there! Just a little bit about me; I am a wife, a mom of twins, a lover of books, an Eight on the Enneagram & I love the work that I am blessed to do every day. I have my MS in Counseling as well as my certificate in Life Coaching. I am licensed clinically in KS & MO, and I am a Supervisor in both states. I specialize in treating eating disorders. I also enjoy working with anxiety & mood disorders, perfectionism and other co-occurring disorders.
I want to make sure I'm a good fit for what my client is looking for and that we're going to be able to work well together. I prioritize comfort in a first session.
Many of the people I work with are successful, dependable, and high functioning on the outside- but privately they're carrying anxiety, unresolved trauma, burnout, ADHD or patterns that leave them feeling stuck despite their best efforts. I help adults move beyond coping and begin creating meaningful, lasting change.
I believe lasting healing begins with understanding, not judgement. My goal is to help you make sense of the experiences that shaped you, recognize the patterns that no longer serve you, and develop new ways of responding with greater confidence, clarity and self-compassion.
I’ve spent 20 years in mental and behavioral health because I believe people are capable of more than they realize, even when things feel heavy. What draws me to this work is sitting with someone in the middle of a hard season and watching them find their footing again.
I earned my undergraduate degree from Southwest Baptist University and my Master’s in Counseling from Missouri State University. I also pursued doctoral-level studies at Roberts Wesleyan College. My clinical background spans forensic psychology, psychological testing, relationships, and sexual health, which has given me a broad foundation for working with a wide range of people and challenges.
I work with individuals, couples, and families across Missouri, all sessions virtual. My areas of focus include anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, ADHD, eating disorders, OCD, bipolar disorder, maternal mental health, relationship challenges, and LGBTQIA+ affirming care.
My practice is a space where all of who you are is welcome, whether that includes your faith, your identity, or both.
If I had to describe my style in a few words: warm, direct, and judgment-free.
