I genuinely enjoy my work as a psychologist, and feel honored and privileged to be able to help people on their journey toward health, happiness and well-being. I strive to being a good listener, compassionate, respectful and nonjudgmental. I have a doctorate in Clinical Psychology, with 23 years experience in private practice during which I saw a great diversity of clientele, each owning a variety of mental health issues. I have specialties in substance use issues, mood and anxiety disorders, sport psychology, as well as grief and life transitions. I work with teens and adults of all ages, and I have a special place in my heart for folks who have served our country in the military and for senior citizens.
What inspired me to become a psychotherapist? Witnessing the challenges people face in life and being captivated by superheroes as a child. Helping others is my passion—it feels like I'm living my childhood dreams. My experience in state psychiatric centers, working with individuals dealing with severe and persistent mental health issues, solidified my desire to assist those with social and emotional needs. While working as a school counselor was rewarding, I felt compelled to offer more comprehensive services beyond psycho-educational workshops. Pursuing clinical therapy was a natural progression for me. I earned my mental health counseling degree at LIU Post and furthered my expertise with certifications and training in CBT, internal family systems, ACT, and logotherapy. These skills enable me to assist clients with reparenting, anxiety, depression, PTSD, stress management, co-parenting, couples counseling, family therapy, and emotional regulation. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), I bring an interactive and down-to-earth approach to therapy. My goal is to equip you with a practical skill set that promotes growth and fulfillment. I look forward to meeting you and helping you live the life you envision!
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of New York. I earned a both my BA in Psychology and my MA in Mental Health Counseling at Adelphi University. I currently serve the community as a Director of Behavioral Health in a major health system. I have worked with a wide variety of populations across multiple settings including higher education, hospital and private practice. I have been fortunate in my career to serve many specialized populations including neurodivergence, severe and persistent acute mental illness, caregivers, geriatrics, and perinatal clients. I also enjoy working with couples. I do not believe in a one size fits all model. I believe that each individual is unique and use a collaborative approach to counseling to ensure my clients needs are met. I am humbled to be invited to be a part of your therapeutic journey and look forward to sharing in this process together!

Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Searching for therapists in Ithaca starts with finding someone whose training matches what you want to address. People often look for therapy in Ithaca for anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, grief, life transitions, or work stress. As you compare therapists, look at the specialties and approaches listed in their profiles, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-informed care, or couples counseling. A therapist’s bio can help you understand who they support, how they structure sessions, and what working together may be like.
Ithaca is a smaller city, so local in-person appointment options may vary by neighborhood, schedule, and specialty. Virtual therapy can expand your options across New York while still connecting you with a therapist licensed to provide care in the state. As you narrow your search, consider whether the therapist is accepting new patients, offers appointment times that fit your calendar, and provides a free phone consultation. Reading profiles before booking can help you compare communication style, focus areas, and session format in one place.
Therapy in Ithaca can be a significant expense without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and understand what you may pay before care begins. Headway helps you search for therapists who match your needs, verify your insurance, view estimated out-of-pocket costs, and book directly when you’re ready.
If you're experiencing or worried about violence, threats, or coercion in your relationship, couples therapy isn't usually the right starting point — individual support is safer. The National Domestic Violence Hotline (1-800-799-7233, or text START to 88788\) can help you think through next steps.
