Almost everyone experiences some level of depression or anxiety during their lifetime. Sometimes these conditions prompt us to get care. They inspire us to work collaboratively with someone so that we can
navigate difficult times. Psychotherapy can help us make decisions, process relationships, endure
emotional pain and make real growth. I specialize in working collaboratively with adults who
experience depression and anxiety or are looking to work through stuck points in their lives.
Before graduate school, I gained experience in a supportive staff role in an outpatient clinic. Since earning my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, I have worked in college counseling centers, in substance use treatment, and as a supervisor for counselors in training. I feel incredibly lucky to have seen many sides of what goes into treating an individual, and it helps me to maintain a holistic focus when it comes to counseling.
If you've spent a long time handling everything on your own, the idea of opening up in therapy can feel uncomfortable — maybe even a little vulnerable. You might be stuck in your head, second-guessing yourself, or repeating patterns you can't quite break no matter how hard you try. You don't need to have it all figured out before you reach out. You just need a willingness to start, and I'll meet you right there.
I work hard to ensure that my client feels safe as they embark on their therapeutic journey. In order to best facilitate healing, I firmly believe in providing a comfortable and supportive space for my clients. My goal is to come alongside the client and provide different perspectives that may not have been considered before and provide encouragement in the everyday victories.
Life doesn't always go as planned. Sometimes illness, loss, or an unexpected transition can leave you feeling like a stranger to yourself. These experiences are more common than they appear, especially when you're someone who looks like they're holding it together on the outside while quietly carrying something heavy within. You don't have to carry it alone.
I’ve always been drawn to helping people, and after more than 30 years in social work, I’ve found my true home in therapy. My background includes case management, administration, academia, medical social work, and mental health. I work best with adults and older adults who are open to the therapy process, ready for change, and willing to work together toward meaningful growth. I believe a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation for lasting progress.
Hi, I’m Jen Palacios, a Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. I work with individuals and couples who are navigating relationship challenges, emotional wounds, and life transitions. Many of the clients I support are working through patterns shaped by past relationships, family dynamics, or experiences of emotional abuse and are looking to better understand themselves and build healthier connections moving forward.
I hold a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Touro University Worldwide and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Kean University. My work is influenced by systemic and relational therapy models, which means I look at how your experiences, relationships, and environment all shape the way you move through the world today.
I am a licensed mental health counselor who specializes in working with women "across the spectrum of motherhood." I work with women experiencing infertility, pregnancy, postpartum depression, anxiety, OCD, heavy mental loads, mom guilt, and empty nests. I have advanced training in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders and use evidence based approaches in my work.
