I work best with driven people experiencing a big change. Perhaps, despite your best efforts, things aren’t working out as you’d hoped. Or perhaps you’ve gotten all you wanted and it doesn’t satisfy. I work often with D1 athletes & pros (as well as their family members). I love supporting the romantic partners of people in the public eye. Though I often work with athletes I am not a Sports Psych. In fact, I don’t even follow sports! I’m here for the rest of your life and identity.

My background includes inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings and crisis intervention, allowing me to support individuals with both acute and ongoing mental health needs. I strive to create a supportive, respectful space where clients feel heard and understood. I also work with families and caregivers when appropriate to support continuity of care.
I’m a dual certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who provides thoughtful, individualized medication management for anxiety, depression, and mood-related concerns. My name is Emily Hand, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), an evidence-based therapy that is particularly effective for trauma. With 8 years of experience, I work with adults and have a diverse background of experience with trauma, addiction, compulsive behaviors, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and relationship problems. I’m passionate about this work, because when we internalize pain we often believe there’s something wrong with us, but what I’ve found is that it’s not about who you are, but what has happened to you — and the ripple effects that follow.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC-MHSP) with more than 15 years of experience in the behavioral health field. My career began in residential treatment in 2010, and I have since worked in residential, community-based, school-based, juvenile justice, and outpatient settings. Since 2018, I have provided counseling services to adolescents and their families, and since 2024, I have worked with adults facing a variety of mental health concerns.
I specialize in helping adolescents, adults, and families navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, behavioral concerns, and difficulties related to school, work, and family dynamics. I also have extensive experience supporting youth and families involved with Juvenile Justice and the Department of Children's Services.
My therapeutic approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), family therapy, and other interventions tailored to each client's unique needs and goals.
I strive to create a warm, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe, heard, and supported. Whether you are a teen struggling with anxiety, a family facing communication challenges, or an adult navigating stress, trauma, depression, relationship concerns, or life transitions, I will work alongside you to identify goals, build on your strengths, and develop practical skills for lasting change.
My goal is to help clients gain insight, build resilience, and move forward with greater confidence and hope. I would be honored to support you on your journey toward healing and personal growth.
I am currently accepting new clients. You might feel stuck, overwhelmed, or carrying experiences that still affect how you think, feel, and show up in your relationships. Many of the people I work with—service members, veterans, and adults navigating stress, trauma, anxiety, or life transitions—feel like they have to handle it all alone. You don’t. Together, we’ll make sense of what’s weighing on you and help you feel more grounded, connected, and back in control.
