Losing someone significant can leave you feeling isolated and overwhelmed. Texas-based providers on Headway offer evidence-based grief therapy, including Complicated Grief Treatment and meaning-making approaches. Many clients pay as low as $0 per session through insurance, with sessions available within days.
Throughout the past two decades, I have dedicated my career to working with young individuals and their families within the educational environment, serving as both an educator and a school counselor. Currently, I hold the position of a licensed professional counselor, where I continue to support and guide individuals on their journeys.
My academic credentials were earned at Stephen F. Austin State University, where I developed a strong foundation in counseling principles and practices. I am deeply passionate about empowering individuals to discover their purpose, experience healing, and embrace their true identity in Christ. My commitment to supporting the personal and spiritual growth of those I work with is at the core of my professional philosophy.
I help Preteens, teens, and adults heal from trauma and work through challenges such as anxiety, depression, grief, relationship difficulties, emotional dysregulation, and negative self-beliefs. Many clients come to me feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected, often carrying the weight of painful past experiences. I provide a safe, supportive space where you feel understood and not alone. Care is tailored to your needs, helping you process experiences, reduce distress, and build healthier coping skills. My goal is to support healing, resilience, and emotional balance so you can move toward a more connected and fulfilling life.
I have been working in the mental health field for many years and have had the privilege of supporting individuals through many of life’s challenges. Over time, I have seen firsthand the stressors and unexpected difficulties that life can bring. While we cannot always prevent these challenges—because life will continue to be life—we can learn healthier ways to cope, grow, and move forward.
My role is to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can explore your experiences, develop practical tools, and gain insight into the patterns that may be affecting your well-being. I am here to offer guidance, encouragement, and support as we work together toward your goals and toward creating a life that feels more balanced, meaningful, and manageable.
The struggles you face and the traumas you have experienced do not have to define you. You have the ability to create a new path for yourself, to live the life you really want to live. I would love to help you create that life. As a Christian counselor, I believe God created perfection and placed it all in the Garden of Eden. Unfortunately, sin entered the picture and people have been struggling with the effects of sin ever since. While I am passionate about my own spiritual walk, I do respect the journey each person is on. It is not my place to dictate to you how your walk should look. God is big enough to handle that part all by himself. I am interested in helping my clients deal with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship issues, spiritual issues, marriage issues, trauma, and others.
I am laid back, and make you feel like you are talking more to a friend than a therapist. My current clients love this.
I love working with children, adolescents and adults who may struggle with anxiety, depression, family issues, or any other day-to-day challenges. My ideal client's goals would be for them to become the best version of themselves and be ready to work in and outside of therapy; wanting happiness, health, and overall a better sense of belonging and direction for their life.
My experience centers on supporting clients of all ages through a wide range of life challenges. Guided by a solution-focused perspective, I believe holistic healing is a foundational part of effective client care. I am trained in EMDR, a therapeutic modality that helps clients process trauma and other difficult life experiences that may interfere with personal growth, relationships, and mental health. I work with clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, life transitions, emotional overwhelm, and other concerns that can make it difficult to feel grounded or move forward. I hold a master’s degree from Colorado Christian University and have received training in both play therapy and EMDR. I have also worked with clients experiencing dual diagnoses within the field of substance use disorders, which has deepened my understanding of the connection between emotional pain, coping, and healing.
Hi, I’m Jamie Harrison, a Licensed Professional Counselor. I work with individuals ages 6 to 99, as well as couples and families, who may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward but are ready for something to change.
You might be experiencing anxiety, depression, overthinking, emotional ups and downs, relationship stress, or feeling disconnected from yourself or others. Sometimes it’s not just one issue it’s a combination of life transitions, stress, or patterns that feel difficult to break.
When working with children and adolescents, I focus on helping them build tools to manage anxiety, depression, self-esteem challenges, anger, impulsive behaviors, and life changes in ways that feel supportive and age-appropriate.
With adults, I support clients in navigating life transitions, grief, anxiety, depression, negative thinking patterns, self-esteem struggles, and challenges with connection helping them develop practical skills to feel more grounded and in control.
When working with couples and families, I help improve communication, strengthen connection, and navigate conflict, life changes, and transitions in healthier, more effective ways.
In our work together, my goal is to create a space where you feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported without judgment. I take a compassionate and practical approach, helping you not only process what you’re going through, but also build tools you can use in your everyday life.
I have experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings, and therapy with me is collaborative—we move at your pace, focus on what matters most to you, and work toward meaningful, lasting change.
