I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over eight years of experience supporting individuals through anxiety, depression, grief, relationship concerns, and life transitions. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Social Work, and I have experience working in community mental health, school settings and private practice. I am especially passionate about supporting women as they navigate personal, relational, and cultural challenges. My goal is to create a space where clients feel understood, supported, and empowered to grow.
I've always been fascinated by the resilience of the human spirit. If you are working through what happened without judgment and identity what could help you keep going.
My style is down-to-earth, casual and I am an extremely experienced therapist. I am understanding and compassionate. I will also challenge you in service of your growth toward meeting your therapeutic goals. I truly love working with clients who are ready to do the work!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker born and raised in Los Angeles, California. I earned my Bachelor’s in Psychology from Skidmore College and my Master of Social Work from Columbia University, where I specialized in clinical practice with families. Since 2021, I have worked as an Associate Clinical Social Worker under the supervision of licensed professionals, gaining extensive experience with children, teens, and families in private practice, community mental health, and high-risk youth in the foster care system.
I am passionate about supporting children, teens, and families as they navigate life’s challenges. I value creating a safe, welcoming space where clients feel heard, understood, and supported. I understand that seeking therapy can feel intimidating, and I want my clients to know that I approach every session with warmth, empathy, and respect for each person’s unique experiences. My goal is to help clients feel empowered to explore their thoughts and emotions and build the skills and confidence to thrive in their daily lives.
As a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and Registered Art Therapist, my work centers queer and transgender preteens, teens, and adults, as well as individuals with current or past foster care involvement. My clients may be feeling overwhelmed, questioning their identity, or don't know where to start with therapy. I can support you by helping you notice patterns and build trust in your own process.
Hi there! My name is Jessica Parmar and I am a therapist who works with adults, teens, and families. Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a teacher, which continues to shape how I connect, support, and engage with clients. I’m warm, approachable, and genuine, and I care deeply about the work we do together. I’ll meet you at your pace, but I’m not afraid to challenge you when it supports your growth.
I’m a California Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) and have a certification in perinatal mental health (PMH-C). Before I was a therapist, I worked as a preschool teacher. I was drawn to clinical work because of the struggles that I observed in the families of the children in my classrooms. During my clinical training, I worked primarily with couples, teens, and adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse. Though I love working with children, I am passionate about my work with adults because healthy, supported, and self-compassionate adults are the key to health for future generations.
I love mental health. I love listening to people and diving into the challenges my clients face on a daily basis. I am humbled with the invitation to join your journey, and help you learn how to help yourself. We all have the tools to undertake the obstacles that we encounter; sometimes we need someone to help us take a step back to find a different perspective. I appreciate the bravery and courage that it takes for each of my clients to let me into their lives and become vulnerable with me.
Hi! Are you curious about what therapy would be like? Or maybe you’ve gone before and are back for more? One of my first goals is to make sure you feel at ease with the therapeutic process. You don’t have to worry about what to say or where to start. It’s my honor and duty to ask the questions and listen intently. I’m here for you!
Since 2010, I have worked with children to older adults from many different backgrounds, cultures, lifestyles and careers. Before dedicating my life to psychology, I worked in medicine and multiple other professions. Along with my California Doctoral education, I was also educated in England, Austria, France, Switzerland and New Zealand. I am originally from Wisconsin.

Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Finding the right therapist in Los Angeles starts with getting clear on what you're looking for. Consider whether you want support for a specific concern — such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or a life transition — or whether you're looking for more general mental health care. From there, look for a licensed provider (such as an LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, or psychologist) who has experience with your specific needs.
With thousands of therapists practicing across Los Angeles, narrowing your options can feel overwhelming. Reading a provider's bio is one of the best ways to understand their approach, specialties, and style before you commit. You may also want to consider logistics like session format (in-person or virtual), location within LA, and scheduling availability.
Therapy in Los Angeles can be expensive out of pocket, but using in-network insurance coverage is one of the most reliable ways to bring costs down. On Headway, you can enter your insurance details to see estimated session costs before you book. Nationally, Headway partners with over 100 insurance plans, and many patients pay as low as $0 per visit — making it easier to find a therapist who is both the right fit and covered by your plan.
