Whether you’re a couple stuck in the same arguments, a teen struggling emotionally, or an adult feeling overwhelmed, you don’t have to figure this out alone. I provide therapy in San Antonio for couples, teens, and adults who want real, lasting change. I specialize in “couples therapy,” “teen counseling,” and “therapy for anxiety and relationship issues,” helping clients improve communication, manage emotions, and break unhealthy patterns.
Hello, I'm Theda. With over 25 years of experience in the mental health and addiction fields, I have had the privilege of working with individuals, groups, and families in various clinical settings, including inpatient, outpatient, in-home, and group homes. My journey in mental health began with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Education in Agency Counseling from Southwestern Oklahoma State University, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor.
My name is Glen Alan Ensinger. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado. I lived in Colorado for over one year and was licensed last March. I have been licensed as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Illinois since 2002. I have provided crisis counseling and domestic violence counseling for perpetrators and victims. I completed my master's degree at Western Illinois University which included a practicum and internship at White Oaks in Peoria, Illinois. This is a substance abuse program. I have worked at a school for children with behavioral problems and also have provided counseling and crisis services at a community mental health center. For approximately 10 years I was on clinical staff for the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria, Illinois where I provided counseling services for clients in the HIV program. I worked over 8 years at the 9th Judicial Court in Illinois as a court services therapist. I have a private practice that includes working for programs that helped children either get adopted or return home from the foster care program (or help parents get the children returned to them). My primary work has been with families, couples and children. I use dialectical behavioral therapy, rational emotive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and general Rogerian therapy to help people live more successful lives.
Two personal virtues I value greatly are learning and curiosity. I will bring these two attitudes to the therapy room and with you to ensure that we develop concepts and theory that fits your experiences. I am currently completing my PhD in Counselor Education with my dissertation focusing on neuroscience-informed treatment. Our internal signals are as powerful as our external reactions. Together, we can use these techniques to quantify treatment!
Welcome! I’m honored you’re considering care. I’m a doctorally prepared Nurse Practitioner with dual board certification in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care and Primary Mental Health. As a former first responder, I bring firsthand understanding of the unique stressors faced by those in high-intensity roles. I take a trauma-informed, person-centered approach to care. I specialize in working with individuals navigating complex emotional landscapes, including first responders and members of the LGBTQ+ community. My goal is to create a safe, affirming space where you feel heard, respected, and empowered to take steps toward healing.
I am a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care. I have advanced training in mental health assessment, medication management, and therapeutic support for individuals of all ages. I work with clients dealing with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma-related issues, and ADHD. My goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where clients feel heard and respected.
Many of the people I work with are high-functioning by every external measure — capable, driven, the one others lean on — while privately carrying anxiety, burnout, shame, or a quiet sense of disconnection from themselves or the people they love. If that's you, you don't need to be told to slow down. You need someone who can help you understand the patterns underneath it and actually change them.
I'm a licensed psychologist with a Ph.D., working with adults and couples. My style is warm and direct: I'll listen closely, and I'll also tell you what I'm seeing. The aim is lasting change — understanding what's been driving the pattern so you can do something different, rather than just managing symptoms.
I’m Makala Smith, a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). I am committed to providing holistic mental health care through a balanced and patient-centered approach.
My background includes neurology, trauma, and public health nursing. I earned my Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner degree from University of Colorado after I realized the need for psychiatric providers in my rural community of Meeker, Colorado and surrounding areas. By furthering my education, I am able to provide specialized, thoughtful, empathetic psychiatric care.
You are likely exhausted from the cycle of feeling "too much" or "not enough," while navigating a world that feels increasingly loud. Whether you are battling the heavy pull of trauma, the volatility of a mood or personality disorder, or the numbing loops of substance use, it is common to feel stuck in a state of guilt and shame. As a Psychologist in Colorado, I specialize in supporting individuals who have spent a long time feeling this way and are ready to break free from self-destructive patterns. I work with individuals who are powering through on empty, ready to trade maladaptive coping for strategies that actually hold up. I hold an extensive background in treating substance use, personality disorders, trauma, and mood disorders. I have dedicated my career to serving populations that struggle with maladaptive coping strategies, providing a space where your experiences are heard and your inherent strengths are recognized.
I offer individual, couples, premarital, marriage, family, child, and adolescent counseling. The environment is a non-judgmental, safe place of acceptance. I will walk along side and help you develop strength and peace. I offer ways that can be helpful in managing trauma, stress, and dealing with communication and trust within relationships. My goal is to help you access internal resources and make adjustments that can be helpful. Since 2013, my focus has been working with individuals who are dealing with a variety of issues, including trauma. I enjoy working with a diverse population including individuals who are dealing with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and grief, to develop a plan to bring positive changes.
