I work collaboratively and at a reflective pace, creating a space where you can explore emotions and creativity without pressure to perform or “get it right.” Music is always an invitation, not a requirement. My goal is to help you feel understood, supported, and more connected to yourself.

They often describe feeling stuck, unmotivated, anxious or depressed and revert to unsuccessful habits. Parents often feel drained and overwhelmed. They want tools to reduce conflict and to feel closer to there children pr partner. I will create a space where we can safely explore your thoughts, overcome obstacles and build a more fulfilling life. My work with you will be interactive, compassionate and goal oriented. I have been trained in expressive arts therapy and is a certified gestalt therapist. I utilizes the arts according to each person’s abilities to imagine and develop body awareness. My eclectic approach suits people who seek to find themselves in mental health. As a blind Japanese immigrant, I work especially well with differently-abled people and Pan Asians.
I started my career as a litigation attorney in Ireland where I grew up. I spent many years working in law and financial services in the US, Australia, and China. Most recently, I worked as a therapist for a community activist organization.
I was drawn to therapy from my prior career having seen firsthand the enormous value it can bring in improving both the quality and enjoyment of our lives. Therapy offers us a safe space to explore the parts of ourselves we cannot access in the midst of our daily routines. When we get right down to it, the quality of the relationships we have with others flows from the relationship we have with ourselves.
I live in Brooklyn with my husband, our two kids and a mildly anxious dog, whose interest in therapy is limited to eating her feelings. I work with clients both in person, in mid-town Manhattan, and remotely.
If this is your first time seeking therapy, or if you have been in therapy before you are welcome here.
