Hi there, my name is Marilyn and I have 34+ years as an experienced licensed clinical social worker specializing in substance abuse treatment and bereavement and specialize in treating depression, adjustment disorders, and mental health related to health issues.

I hold both a bachelors and masters degree in social work.

I am a graduate of the University of Southern California with a Masters in Clinical Social Work, and received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles. I am also a certified 200 HR yoga instructor and Reiki practitioner. I bring a deeply integrative approach to healing, blending somatic therapies, mindfulness, and energy work with evidence-based interventions. I am also currently completing my PhD in Integral and Transpersonal Psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies.

With a foundation in yoga, nervous system regulation, and spiritual practice, my work is rooted in guiding you to return to your own embodied truth through reinforcing resilience and post-traumatic growth. I primarily work with survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and those navigating PTSD and other trauma related diagnoses.

Wanting to get to the "why" of your and others behaviors and thinking can be a lifetime of healing. Have you ever wondered about why male and females are so different? I study that and have 7 brothers. I graduated from the U of U in social work. I know that my own journey in life and doing my own work can really help others do the same. One of my favorite work experiences was in drug and alcohol treatment. Your background does not define who you are. Having a safe place to be heard, understood and process is my intention. I have been a SW for 29 years. I received my bachelors of social work from Southern University and A&M College and my masters of social work from Southern at New Orleans. As a SW, at DCFS/CW, I have served as in Investigations, Foster Care, Family Service, Adoption, and as a Child Welfare Supervisor, CW Trainer, and a CW Manager. PRN work included working in MH/SA, hospitals, hospice and school SW. I am a TBRI Pract. & adoption competent. I help people who seek help! I retired from DCFS on 01/21/2026.
