Hi, I’m Dominique, a Licensed Professional Counselor and substance use specialist. I’ve worked with adults navigating substance use concerns, anxiety, self-esteem, and identity challenges for over a decade. My approach is real, compassionate, and culturally aware. I believe therapy should feel like a conversation that helps you grow, not a clinical checklist.
I have worked primarily with adults, older adults, and adolescents on issues of mental health that may be impacting one's ability to function in day-to-day life such as: depression, anxiety, other mood and thought disorders, suicidality (for individuals as well as those bereaved from suicide losses), interpersonal violence, LGBTQIA+ support, topics surrounding race and culture, hoarding (both individuals affected and their loved ones), criminal justice system-involvement, and trauma (individual, intergenerational, and community).
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I have experience working in outpatient clinics, inpatient psychiatric settings, residential substance use treatment, as well as community re-entry and job coaching support programs for the last 10 years.
Taking the step to seek support isn’t easy, and I want to honor the courage it takes to be here. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Life Coach, and retired Army veteran who believes caring for your mental health is essential to living a balanced, fulfilling life. I’m passionate about helping people navigate life’s challenges, build resilience, and reconnect with themselves. I work with teens and adults who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, or major life transitions, and I strive to meet you with respect, compassion, and understanding.
I believe prioritizing mental health is an important part of creating a balanced and fulfilling life, and I know reaching out for support is often one of the hardest steps to take. Since beginning my practice in 2021, I have worked primarily with adults navigating challenges related to anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, and life transitions. My goal is to create a supportive space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered as we work together toward healing, self understanding, and meaningful growth.
I approach therapy with warmth, curiosity, and deep respect for your unique story. I work with people across all stages of life who are navigating the effects of trauma, anxiety, emotional dysregulation, or feeling disconnected from themselves. My goal is to help you rebuild safety, rediscover connection, and move toward a more grounded, authentic sense of self. Alongside traditional therapy, I also offer Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy, which can provide a meaningful, body-centered way to explore healing and self-awareness.
Welcome, and thank you for considering me as a partner in your wellness journey! My therapeutic style is warm, gentle, and supportive, while also being direct and accountability focused. I believe meaningful change happens when compassion and honesty work together. In our time together, we will explore what’s getting in the way of your well-being and identify practical, sustainable ways to improve your daily functioning and overall quality of life.
With over a decade of experience in the mental health field, I bring a grounded, steady presence to the therapeutic space. I support clients through life transitions, emotional challenges, and periods of feeling stuck, always meeting you where you are while helping you move toward where you want to be. Therapy with me is collaborative, intentional, and centered on your goals, your values, and your lived experience. Together, we’ll work toward clarity, resilience, and growth at a pace that feels both supportive and empowering.
I specialize in supporting people navigating trauma, addiction, and tough emotional seasons. As an APSW and SAC-IT in Wisconsin, I bring training in Youth-Oriented Substance Abuse and Trauma Counseling, as well as Brainspotting. In our work together, we’ll look at how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors connect—especially around substance use, trauma, and patterns that feel hard to change—so you can feel safer, more understood, and more in control of your life.
If you're stuck in a career that doesn't fit, navigating a major life change, or trying to move
forward when a disability or health challenge has made the path less clear, I get it. I've spent
over a decade helping people work through exactly that. I work with adolescents and adults who
are dealing with career uncertainty, employment barriers, life transitions, and the anxiety and
depression that often come with feeling stuck. My background includes working directly with
individuals with diverse abilities and needs, and I've partnered with schools, employers, and
community organizations, so I understand the systems you're navigating, not just the feelings.
Are you struggling with managing stress and anger? Do you feel overwhelmed with day-to-day tasks or have trouble falling asleep because you can't turn your brain "off"? I strive to support each client through empathy, education and humor. I am passionate about working with clients to help process challenges, to gain skills or provide some extra support during life's transitions. I have worked with all ages in hospital settings, outpatient, addiction treatment and community settings. My specialties include anxiety disorders, ADHD and substance use concerns

Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Finding the right therapist in Milwaukee starts with getting clear on what you're looking for. Consider whether you want support for a specific concern — such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship challenges, or a life transition — or whether you're looking for general mental health care. From there, look for a licensed provider (such as an LPC, LCSW, psychologist, or psychiatrist) who has experience with your specific needs and offers the session format you prefer, whether that's in-person or virtual.
Milwaukee has a large and varied mental health provider community, with therapists practicing across neighborhoods like Bay View, Wauwatosa, the East Side, and West Allis. Narrowing your options can feel overwhelming when so many directories list providers who may not be accepting new patients or taking your insurance. Reading a provider's bio before booking can help you understand their approach, specialties, and style — so you can feel more confident about the fit.
Therapy in Milwaukee can be expensive without insurance. Using your in-network benefits is one of the most straightforward ways to reduce your out-of-pocket costs, and many patients pay as low as $0 per session depending on their plan. On Headway, you can enter your insurance details to see estimated session costs before you book. Nationally, Headway partners with over 100 insurance plans, and every provider listed is accepting new patients.
