There's a point where pushing through on your own stops being resilience and starts just being exhausting. I'm Mike, a Licensed Professional Counselor working with adults and seniors navigating anxiety, trauma, panic, depression, and the kind of mood and identity questions that are hard to untangle alone. I'm LGBTQIA+ affirming and actively work with men who are ready to take their mental health seriously. I believe you already have strengths you may not be giving yourself credit for. Clients often describe me as direct, clear, and collaborative.
I am from Lockport, Illinois and have lived in Phoenix AZ for over 25 years. I received my undergrad at Governor's state University and grad degree from Capella university. My specialty is Trauma, but I also work with many other problems. I work with children ages 10 to 18.
I specialize in working with adults experiencing depression, anxiety, life transitions, interpersonal relationship challenges, and difficulties with assertiveness.
Some of the most painful experiences we carry aren't the ones we talk about easily — they're the ones that quietly shape how we see ourselves, how safe we feel in our own bodies, and which parts of who we are we've learned to hide, protect, or push away entirely. Whether you're working through childhood wounds, the lasting impact of a toxic or high-control relationship, or a season of profound uncertainty that left you feeling unrecognizable to yourself, I offer a calm, steady space to gently begin finding your way back.
My work is grounded in Internal Family Systems — an approach built on the understanding that we are all made up of different parts, each carrying its own history, its own protective role, and its own quiet wisdom. Rather than fighting the parts of yourself that feel difficult or overwhelming, we learn to understand them, approaching them with curiosity instead of shame. That shift — from self-criticism toward self-compassion — is often where real healing begins.
I have a particular passion for supporting people through the profound transitions of pregnancy, postpartum, and new parenthood — seasons that can carry deep joy alongside grief, anxiety, identity shifts, and an intensity that is rarely spoken about honestly enough. I work with individuals navigating perinatal mood disorders, intrusive thoughts, birth trauma, fertility struggles, and pregnancy loss. For those handed a version of parenthood nothing like what they imagined, I offer care that meets the full complexity of that experience.
My practice is trauma-informed, gender-affirming, and culturally aware, with a deep commitment to the LGBTQIA+ community, first-generation individuals, and those healing from high-control environments. I draw on CBT, DBT, ACT, and IFS — always tailored to your specific needs and pace. After more than a decade in this work, what continues to move me most is simple: the moment someone finally feels truly seen.
I’m Dr. Courtney Chettle, a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board Approved Clinical Supervisor, based in Arizona. I specialize in helping adults who are navigating trauma, substance use, anxiety, burnout, neurodivergence, identity exploration, and life transitions. I know how heavy life can feel when you’re carrying old wounds, coping silently, or feeling disconnected from who you really are. You don’t have to do it alone.
I bring 14 years of experience in the behavioral health field, including 6 years as a licensed clinician and several more as a Board Approved Clinical Supervisor. I work with people who are ready to make real, lasting changes, people who want to heal, grow, and feel more like themselves again.
As someone who is in recovery and a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community and neurodivergent individual who has had to navigate life from that lens, I offer a space where you don’t have to explain who you are, where you’ve been, or why it is hard. You’ll be met with respect, empathy, and understanding. My clients often say they feel truly seen, supported, and empowered in our work together.
