I am licensed clinical psychologist in California. I have a PhD in Clinical Psychology and MA in Counseling Psychology.
I am trained in the depth psychological tradition (psychoanalytic psychotherapy, psychodynamic and Jungian/analytic psychology). I listen to how deep-rooted beliefs, current dilemmas in daily life, socio-cultural factors, and emotional responses are communicating through the expression of psychological symptoms.
Making the decision to start therapy is a profound investment of your time, energy, and vulnerability. If you are looking for a blank-slate clinician who simply nods and listens, we might not be the best fit. I offer a highly engaged, malleable, and unflinching partnership.
My approach is rooted in the belief that while the work of untangling our lives is deeply structural, the room itself doesn't always have to feel heavy. I bring a grounded warmth to my practice—which means knowing how to sit quietly in the gravity of a difficult truth, but also knowing when to break the tension, exhale, and find the light in the sheer complexity of being human. I won’t just sit in silence while you do all the heavy lifting; I am an active collaborator who adapts to exactly where you are.

Her work is deeply rooted in helping clients build resilience and create meaningful change in their lives.
I am a Latina bilingual therapist with 15 years of professional mental health experience. I specialize in working with people suffering from depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, difficulties with acculturation, work stress and domestic violence. I work with children/adolescents, parents, couples and individuals. I Graduated from Pacific Oaks College with a Masters Degree in Marriage Family Therapy with specialization in Latino/a Family Studies. I am passionate about working with families.
I’m Emmanuel Garcia, a Mexican American therapist, first-generation college graduate, and founder of Radiate Hope Therapy. I specialize in supporting adults and adolescents navigating trauma, substance use, identity struggles, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. Many of the people I work with feel weighed down by emotions or uncertain about their direction, especially during sobriety or recovery.
Growing up, I witnessed how mental health was often stigmatized and silenced, especially for men in Latino communities. I know how isolating that silence can feel. My own journey through therapy and recovery taught me that true strength isn’t in staying quiet, it’s in showing up for yourself and beginning to heal. That lived experience shapes the empathy, understanding, and care I bring to every session.
Growing up in California, Colorado and Tennessee concocted a Midwestern warmth with an open-mindedness and appreciation of our differences. These experiences gave me a curiosity for how humans develop in their environments and with their unique histories, leading me to pursue psychology.
I studied Political Science at Vanderbilt University before a seven year tenure in the corporate world. I am grateful for this experience as it has added depth and perspective to my work with clients. In 2014 I began my counseling psychology degree at The Wright Institute in Berkeley and then completed my training in San Francisco. My training journey encompassed internships at community mental health clinics, elementary and high schools, group therapy practices, and social service sites where I received intensive supervision in a variety of modalities. I regularly attend trainings and consult with colleagues to hone my craft and provide the best possible care.
I have had the privilege of doing this work for more than 30 years, learning along the way and stopping only to learn more.

Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Searching for therapists in Torrance starts with knowing what kind of support fits your needs. Many people look for therapy for anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, grief, life transitions, or stress at work or home. As you compare therapists, look for listed specialties, therapy styles, and experience that match what you want to address. A therapist’s bio can also show how they describe their approach, what sessions may focus on, and whether their background aligns with your preferences.
Torrance has local therapy options, but availability may vary by schedule, neighborhood, and appointment format. Virtual therapy can expand your search beyond offices near Downtown, Seaside, Old Town, or nearby South Bay communities while still keeping care connected to California-licensed therapists. As you narrow your options, consider whether a therapist is accepting new patients, offers appointment times that fit your calendar, provides in-person or virtual sessions, and offers a free phone consultation. Reading profiles before booking can help you compare communication style, areas of focus, and what to expect in the first session.
Therapy in Torrance can be a significant investment without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and get a clearer estimate before you book. Headway helps you search for therapists who match your preferences, verify your insurance, and see estimated out-of-pocket costs upfront. You can browse therapists in Torrance, review bios, and book directly when you’re ready.
