"I believe the problem is not the person." I've worked in the Human Services area for 25 years before retiring. I made the decision to go into private practice because I really enjoy helping people. I've worked with several populations including, women, formerly incarcerated individuals, developmentally disabled, elderly, single parents with children and persons dually diagnosed with Substance Use Disorders. I've facilitated groups and worked with individuals.

I'm a LPC with over 25 years in the field. I've helped people through a variety of issues. Whatever is motivating you to seek counseling, I’m here to help. I am a fully licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Michigan. I earned my Master of Social Work degree in 2019 from Michigan State University. In addition, I have experience in crisis intervention, providing de-escalation support as a mobile response worker assisting individuals experiencing suicidal crises.
Hello! It's great to meet you. My name is Heather Reid and I am a licensed clinical social worker (LMSW). I have been a practicing social worker since December 2019 and have experience working in both medical social work as well as psychotherapy.
Throughout my career, I have worked with adults navigating anxiety, depression, grief and loss, chronic illness, relationship stress, women's issues, life transitions, and trauma. I also have specialized experience supporting frontline workers and individuals impacted by medical trauma.
I have been doing this work since 2009 — which means I have sat with a lot of people through a lot of different kinds of hard. I hold a Master's degree in Counseling with a dual focus in professional counseling and marriage and family therapy, and my career has moved through two distinct chapters that have shaped how I practice. The first half was spent in the world of substance use — working with individuals and families where the stakes were high and the complexity was real. The last several years have been in private practice, where I've worked with the full range of human struggle: depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, substance use disorders, parenting stress, and the disorienting moments when life shifts beneath your feet. I work with individuals, couples, and groups. Very few things surprise me at this point — and that's exactly what makes this work feel safe.
Welcome, and thank you for choosing me to support you on your counseling journey. I look forward to meeting with you and creating a space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered.
