I believe that people can heal when they feel heard & understood.
I help people in all life stages navigate transitions, repair and reconnect in their relationships, overcome anxiety and loss, and cultivate courage to change.
I love helping people develop skills to improve their lives, communication and relationships. It is important to know that one theory does not meet everyone’s needs, therefore I use many different approaches to helping my clients to build their own best version of themselves.
Welcome. I am Renee Benavidez, LPCC, and I earned my master’s degree from New Mexico Highlands University in 2012, dedicating my entire 14-year career to supporting both teenagers and adults. While I spent my first 11 years guiding court-committed individuals, I have spent the last three years focusing on the broader community to help clients heal from trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use, and adjustment disorders. My primary approach is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a powerful tool that helps process and heal deep-rooted wounds. Nothing brings me more joy than witnessing the inspiring, positive transformations my clients make as they reclaim their lives and well-being.
Hi I'm Eleanor! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California and New Mexico. I am passionate about empowering people to build self-trust and self-acceptance. Most of my clients come to therapy because they want to make a change or cope with a change that they did not choose.
As clinical social worker, I know that there is not an easy fix to all of our challenges. However, it is my mission to find a path to healing. Together we can develop tools and positive coping skills to get through these difficult times. I am passionate about helping people who want to help themselves live life to the fullest. I utilize a variety of treatment modalities, especially CBT and DBT therapy.
Tonia Caselman holds a Masters Degree in clinical social work and a PhD in Human Development. She is licensed in the state of New Mexico and has worked in a myriad of settings (inpatient, outpatient, residential, hospice and the university), helping clients and teaching future therapists. She has written several treatment manuals and created several therapeutic games for children. Her specialties include family therapy, women's issues, children/adolescents and grief/loss.
I bring warmth, compassion, acceptance, and humor into the therapy space. My specialties are working with Adults who are facing challenges while having ADHD or difficulties with executive functioning. I also specialize in working with men's issues ranging from ADHD, codependency, low self esteem, or men who feel stuck where they are in life. I also work with individuals struggling with substance use/abuse
I’m passionate about facilitating your individual success. I strongly believe in collaboration and partnering to achieve your personal goals. I believe that you are the expert in your life and my role is to facilitate putting the puzzle together. My overall style is warm and compassionate.
I work with teens (13+) and adults who are navigating trauma, anxiety, relationship issues, mood disorders like depression and bipolar disorder, sexual addiction, and gender identity exploration. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, unsure of your next steps, or just need a space where you can be yourself, you’re not alone.
It is essential to me to build a strong therapeutic alliance so you feel safe, comfortable, and supported in your healing. I encourage my clients to be advocates for their own well-being, and I see therapy as a space where you can begin to reconnect with your purpose and move toward the life you want.
I am a faith-based clinician, and I believe therapy can be especially powerful when we integrate the spiritual aspect with evidence-based practices, if that’s something that feels meaningful to you.

Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Finding therapists in Rio Rancho starts with knowing what kind of support you want. You may be looking for therapy in Rio Rancho for anxiety, depression, grief, relationship challenges, work stress, or a major life change. As you compare counselors in Rio Rancho, look for training and listed specialties that match your needs. Provider bios can also show whether a therapist uses approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, trauma-informed care, or other methods that fit what you want from sessions.
Rio Rancho is a smaller city, so local in-person options may be more limited than in larger New Mexico markets. Virtual therapy can expand your search to licensed New Mexico therapists while still letting you filter for schedule, specialty, and personal fit. Some people prefer a nearby office, while others value virtual appointments that fit around work, school, or caregiving. Before booking, review each therapist’s profile for availability, session format, communication style, and whether they offer a free phone consultation.
Therapy in Rio Rancho can be a significant expense without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and make care easier to plan for. Headway helps you find therapists who accept your plan, see estimated out-of-pocket costs before booking, and choose from therapists who are accepting new patients. You can browse profiles, compare fit, and book directly when you’re ready.
