I have been helping people finding solutions to complex problems for more than 20 years. I have a wealth of experience with individuals across the life span and the many challenges we face at various stages of life.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I have focused the majority of my career on youth and young adults. I love working with young people as they navigate the challenges of personality development, family relationships, and exploring their place in the world beyond the family. My clinical judgment and practice strategies are guided by over twenty years of work with a wide variety of clients and circumstances. As a social worker in a lively high school and a parent of two young adults, I am very comfortable building rapport with the full gamut of adolescent personalities.
I am very excited to support clients in all developmental life stages as they work through clinical and non-clinical issues. These include depression, anxiety, trauma, divorce, grief and loss, life and career transitions, relationships, parenting, family dynamics, and aging.
I first received my Master's in Guidance & Counseling in the 1990s from Hunter College in Manhattan and obtained an Advanced Certificate in Mental Health Counseling from the University at Buffalo. I have also been a practicing, licensed massage therapist for nearly 30 years. I have clinical experience providing empathic mental health care for individuals, couples, families, and groups and have treated anxiety, trauma, depression, personality and eating disorders, as well as other mental health concerns. I have also treated physical disease conditions and physical trauma with mind/body techniques. Each client is unique, and raising awareness of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors is the focus in working collaboratively and intentionally towards realistic solutions.
I enjoy supporting people who are committed to their own journey of personal growth. I have been a licensed clinical social worker for over 20 years and have worked with diverse adults along the continuum of inpatient medical to outpatient behavioral health settings. I specialize in treating adjustment, anxiety, depression, attachment issues, stress management, and maneuvering through life transitions, as well as provide support in the development of coping strategies to effectively navigate grief processing and trauma healing.
