My name is Amanda Rowell. I studied at Southwestern Oklahoma State University and became a Licensed Practitioner Counselor in 2015. I also recently became an LPC Supervisor to help other developing counselors on their way to licensure. My background work is mostly with child and adolescent inpatient settings. I have seen adults in inpatient settings as well. I became a Trust Based Relational Intervention Practitioner in December of 2023 and will continue to use TBRI techniques.
I’m a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with over 15 years of experience in nursing, most of that in mental health care. My background includes inpatient psychiatry, outpatient care, and working with individuals across different stages of life, so I’ve seen how mental health challenges can show up in very real, everyday ways.
Over time, I’ve learned that many people don’t always have the words for what they’re experiencing—they just know something feels off. Maybe it’s constant worry, low energy, feeling overwhelmed, or just not feeling like yourself anymore. That’s where I come in.
I focus on helping adults better understand what they’re experiencing and finding practical, effective ways to treat it, including medication when appropriate. My goal is to make mental health care feel clear, approachable, and tailored to you—not confusing or overwhelming.
Hello and welcome to therapy. You are one step closer on your journey to achieving your goals, passions, and intentions. You and I will develop a therapeutic relationship as you work through trauma, anxiety, depression, and other areas that you would like growth in. You will utilize the strengths that you already have, and keep expanding on those. It is my job to create a safe, open, and person-centered environment. I look forward to working with you on your healing journey! Keep going and growing.
I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor with experience working as counselor in group settings as well as various ages from kids to adults.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I have a passion for helping people work through life's challenges, assisting them in reaching their full potential, and figuring out what it is that they most want from life. I believe that being heard, understood, and accepted exactly as you are is where healing begins.
I have degrees in nursing, public affairs and environmental management, and social work. It is an interesting combination because I have more lenses than just one to view a client's issues. For example, I can understand the health conditions from a medical perspective, any toxicology issues from the environmental perspective such as workplace exposure to volatile organic compounds, and the social work perspective of mental health, social functioning, and community resources. I have worked with depression, adults molested as children, porn addiction, adoption issues, anxiety, life transitions, grief, PTSD, and more. I have done psychotherapy as a licensed clinician since 2002. Prior to that I had experience in mental health as a nurse.
Credentials and Experience
I'm a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in Oklahoma and Colorado, a board-certified counselor (NCC), and hold a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision - which means I don't just practice therapy, I train and supervise other therapists. That clinical depth shapes everything about how I work with clients.
My specialization is neurocounseling: integrating what we know about the brain and nervous system into practical, grounded therapy. I also hold specialized training in telehealth - so working with you virtually isn't a workaround, it's where I do my best work.
I work with adults navigating anxiety, burnout, trauma, identity, and the particular kind of exhaustion that comes from holding everything together for too long.
I believe therapy works best when we’re actively working together toward meaningful change. Growth can feel uncomfortable at times, but with practice, new ways of thinking and relating become more natural and empowering. My approach is collaborative, genuine, and grounded in respect. My primary modalities are Cognitive Behavioral and Attachment Based, but I tailor therapy to each person’s needs, drawing from a variety of methods to help you build insight, confidence, and resilience. I value a strong therapeutic relationship where you feel supported, understood, and encouraged.
I enjoy working with individuals of various lifestyles and feel my ability to remain accepting, respectful, and genuine are my personal strengths. I am also honored as an advisor to the 5th Edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders which is the foremost diagnostic tool utilized by all mental health professionals around the world.

Welcome. Reaching out for support can feel overwhelming, especially when you're carrying anxiety, depression, trauma, or questions about who you are and how you want to move through the world. I work with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults who are navigating challenges related to anxiety, depression, PTSD, identity concerns, family issues, grief and loss, stress, anger, sleep difficulties, and life transitions. I also provide affirming care for LGBTQIA+ individuals and those exploring gender identity and transgender experiences. Many people come to therapy feeling exhausted, misunderstood, disconnected, or unsure of how to move forward. My goal is to create a space where you can feel accepted, understood, and supported as we work together toward greater self-awareness, healing, and personal growth. Therapy is an opportunity to better understand yourself, process difficult experiences, and build a life that feels more authentic and meaningful.
If you’ve been carrying too much for too long, therapy can be a place to finally exhale. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Texas and Oklahoma, and I work with individuals and couples navigating anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship issues, life transitions, trauma, and recovery from narcissistic abuse.
