Hi, I’m Maddie! I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a specialization in trauma. I have spent most of my professional time working with children and adolescents so I know the vast childhood experiences anyone coming into therapy may bring.
I find it an immense privilege to be a trauma therapist and work with my clients on the hardest topics they may have experienced. I want you to find safety in our relationship to explore what has happened to you and who you want to become from that experience. I am trained in EMDR, an evidence -based treatment for trauma and love bringing in creative ways for my clients to experience the healing that can come through EMDR. I want you to feel that each hour we bring is your own and your goals for therapy are always at the forefront of my mind and work.
When I am not working as a therapist, I enjoy a variety of creative activities including cooking, baking, and crochet. I also love spending time outdoors or swimming to recharge and reset myself for my next day of therapy.
I received my BA degree in Psychology from Columbia College and my MA degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lenoir-Rhyne University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) dedicated to supporting adult women through life’s challenges with a compassionate, empowering, and trauma-informed approach. I believe that healing begins in a space where you feel safe, supported, and understood, and I strive to create that environment for every client I work with. I have experience working with women in a correctional facility and in a private practice setting. I have also worked with adolescent males in the juvenile justice system, adolescent girls, and children in a school setting.
Life offers so much to be enjoyed and known and shared. I offer a therapeutic relationship that is designed to help you live your life more fully. Whatever your struggle, suffering feels worse without support. Information and skills may help you work within your circumstances. Yet, emotional connections and corrective experiences within therapy often effect the most change! Together, we are likely to find more optimistic outcomes.
As a graduate of Regent University with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, I am trained to provide professional care for diagnosable symptoms, but my view and approach holds that people are able to be their best self by experiencing their own inner healing and through healthy relationships. My clinical training included serving in a group foster home for teens and working in two group private practices. I have helped improve lives with a wide range of clients, including self-harming adolescents. Helping couples deepen their bond and reduce conflict has been my private practice passion since 2020; I have training across multiple modalities, including EFT, Gottman, IFS, RLT and Brainspotting. Within couples or individual therapy, I regularly help clients process difficult experiences and developmental trauma. Then, they have more capacity for relational and skills-based learning to propel them into seasons of greater internal and external peace and happiness.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a background in working with children, adolescents, and adults across a variety of settings. I began my career as a substance use counselor, which gave me a strong foundation in understanding how life stressors, trauma, and mental health challenges are often interconnected. This experience led me to expand my training to better support individuals with a wide range of concerns.
I specialize in working with anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral concerns, anger management, and life transitions. I also have experience supporting clients navigating grief, family challenges, and difficulties with emotional regulation and relationships. I use evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), DBT, motivational interviewing, client-centered approaches, and play-based interventions to meet clients where they are developmentally and emotionally.
Hello! I have over 25 years of experience walking alongside individuals through both challenging and transformative moments. I believe people heal best when they feel genuinely seen, understood, and supported, and I strive to create a therapeutic space where clients can safely explore their emotions, experiences, and personal growth without judgment.
I help individuals build resilience, expand their capacity to tolerate distress, and strengthen emotional regulation skills that support long-term well-being. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to each person’s unique needs and goals. I believe meaningful change happens over time, and I work to support clients in growing at a pace that feels both safe and empowering.
I help clients understand what they’re experiencing and build tools they can actually use. Together, we reduce anxiety, manage stress, and improve relationships. My approach is supportive, direct, and tailored to you. I also offer EMDR to process past experiences so they have less impact on your present.
Greetings! My name is Fredricka Brown, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and the owner of Holistic Wellness Counseling Services, LLC. From the start, I have dedicated my career to supporting adolescents and adults as they navigate depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, and major life transitions– all of the moments that matter most. With over two decades of experience working with children, teens, and young adults in community settings, at home, and within the school system, I bring a deep understanding of the unique challenges individuals face at every stage of life.
I have been a therapist for 13 years. My training is in Expressive Arts Therapy, Somatic Work and Systems Therapies. I have worked in a variety of settings from outdoor education to residential and IOP. Most of my background has been in supporting individuals or families with children with complex developmental needs and neurodiversity. I love working with folks of all ages and backgrounds and am an ally.
Personally, I love crafting, cooking, paddle boarding and traveling to National Parks with my husband and two small children.
Thanks for taking the time to get to know me, and I look forward to knowing more about you!
