Howdy, and welcome! My name is Alicia, and I'm a licensed professional counselor in Tennessee. I work with folks who might be dealing with the effects of trauma, anxiety, or depression.
Are you feeling stuck in patterns that are hard to break—whether it’s addiction, codependency, or depression? You may feel overwhelmed, drained, or constantly putting others first while losing yourself in the process. I work with teens and adults across Tennessee who are navigating addiction, relationship patterns, and depression. Together, we create a supportive space where you can understand what’s driving these patterns and begin building a healthier, more balanced life.
Feeling overwhelmed by pregnancy, postpartum, infertility, or the many transitions of life? Struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, relationships, or coping with chronic illness? Experiencing infidelity, feeling disconnected, stuck, or lacking trust and intimacy with your partner? Or hey, maybe you’re just really freaking tired from carrying it all.
If any of this sounds familiar, you’re in the right place.
I’m Destinee, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Perinatal Mental Health Certified (PMH-C) therapist providing compassionate, trauma-informed virtual therapy to clients across Tennessee. I specialize in perinatal and postpartum mental health, LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy, and culturally sensitive care tailored to your unique identity and experience.
As a PMH-C therapist, I also offer support to adults, teens, and couples navigating depression, anxiety, life transitions, chronic illness, identity, trauma, stress, grief, infidelity and relationship challenges. With years of experience in psychiatric hospitals, medical settings like the PICU and NICU, private practice, schools, and grief support groups, I bring a well-rounded, expert approach to your mental health care. My couples counseling is self-pay only, at a rate of $170.
I’m a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with six years of experience helping adults navigate ADHD, mood disorders, anxiety, substance use concerns, and personality disorders. I trained at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing and have a background in neuroscience research, which shapes my practical, brain-based approach to care.
I believe people do best when they’re treated as whole humans—not just a diagnosis. I enjoy breaking down complex mental health concepts into clear, bite-sized explanations so patients understand why they feel the way they do and how treatment helps. My style is collaborative, direct, and supportive.
I’m comfortable working with complex or long-standing symptoms and don’t shy away from difficult cases. I also enjoy working with creatives in the Nashville community and understand the unique pressures that can come with creative work. My goal is to help patients feel empowered, informed, and supported as they move toward meaningful, sustainable change.
Welcome. If you have been feeling overwhelmed by depression, anxiety, mood swings, or trouble focusing, you are not alone. Maybe your teen is struggling, or you are exhausted from trying to manage symptoms on your own. When your mood, energy, or attention feel out of control, daily life can feel harder than it should. I offer a supportive, judgment free space where your concerns are taken seriously.
I get it—feeling stuck in the same old patterns, craving deeper connections, and wondering how to even begin to break free can be exhausting. If you’re anything like the people I work with (and honestly, like I once was myself), you’ve probably spent a lot of time thinking, “Something has to change... but what?” That’s where I come in.

Headway helps you find expert-guided support for every stage of motherhood — from finding the right therapist or psychiatrist, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Finding a postpartum therapist in Memphis starts with identifying the type of support you need. Postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, and other perinatal mood disorders each present differently, and a provider with specific training in maternal mental health care can make a meaningful difference. Look for a licensed therapist or psychiatrist who has experience with perinatal concerns — credentials like a Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C) or training through Postpartum Support International (PSI) indicate specialized expertise. On Headway, you can read detailed provider bios to learn about each provider's approach and areas of focus before booking.
Practical factors matter too, especially during the postpartum period. Consider whether you prefer virtual sessions you can attend from home or in-person appointments in the Memphis area, including nearby communities like Germantown, Bartlett, and Cordova. Availability and scheduling flexibility can be especially important when you're adjusting to life with a new baby.
Therapy in Memphis can be expensive out of pocket, but using your in-network insurance benefits is one of the most reliable ways to reduce costs. On Headway, you can enter your insurance details to see an estimated session cost before you book. Nationally, Headway partners with over 100 insurance plans, and your out-of-pocket expense may be as low as $0 per session — though costs vary based on your location and specific coverage.
