Hi, I’m Jamie Harrison, a Licensed Professional Counselor. I work with individuals ages 6 to 99, as well as couples and families, who may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward but are ready for something to change.
You might be experiencing anxiety, depression, overthinking, emotional ups and downs, relationship stress, or feeling disconnected from yourself or others. Sometimes it’s not just one issue it’s a combination of life transitions, stress, or patterns that feel difficult to break.
When working with children and adolescents, I focus on helping them build tools to manage anxiety, depression, self-esteem challenges, anger, impulsive behaviors, and life changes in ways that feel supportive and age-appropriate.
With adults, I support clients in navigating life transitions, grief, anxiety, depression, negative thinking patterns, self-esteem struggles, and challenges with connection helping them develop practical skills to feel more grounded and in control.
When working with couples and families, I help improve communication, strengthen connection, and navigate conflict, life changes, and transitions in healthier, more effective ways.
In our work together, my goal is to create a space where you feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported without judgment. I take a compassionate and practical approach, helping you not only process what you’re going through, but also build tools you can use in your everyday life.
I have experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings, and therapy with me is collaborative—we move at your pace, focus on what matters most to you, and work toward meaningful, lasting change.
I earned my M.Ed. in Counselor Education from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA. My path into the counseling field has been shaped by a deep passion for both the healing process and holistic wellness. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work in various levels of care, including residential and intensive outpatient settings, where I gained invaluable clinical experience and a deeper appreciation for mental health care..
I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor and for over 7 years I've worked in private practice in Wimberley, TX after serving at-risk youth and families in schools, teens in treatment centers, and working as a career counselor. I specialize in ADHD, women's issues, mood disorders (including suicidal ideation and self-harm), low self-esteem, parenting, and family conflict. My goal is to offer a supportive nonjudgmental space for healing and growth. Outside of work, I enjoy swimming, trail running, yoga, meditation and exploring the Texas Hill Country with my two children and friends.
If your mind won’t slow down, you keep overthinking your decisions, or you feel stuck in patterns you can’t break, you’re not alone. Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed or frustrated that they understand what’s wrong—but still can’t seem to change it. I help you get to the root of those patterns so real change can happen. Instead of just managing symptoms, we work on understanding what’s driving them—so you can feel more in control, less reactive, and more confident in how you respond to your life.
I primarily work with men and older teenage boys (17+) dealing with anxiety, emotional shutdown, anger, panic, burnout, shame, relationship struggles, trauma, or a constant feeling of being stuck in survival mode. Many of my clients are highly self-aware but still feel trapped repeating the same patterns despite understanding themselves intellectually.
My style is direct, grounded, and practical without becoming cold or overly clinical. I work especially well with clients who are tired of vague therapy conversations and want help understanding what is actually driving the problem beneath the surface. I’ve worked in settings ranging from emergency rooms to juvenile facilities, and those experiences shaped a therapy style focused on clarity, accountability, emotional honesty, and meaningful forward movement.
Welcome!
My work with clients values the therapeutic relationship, authenticity, and practical solutions.
I specialize in working with adults and older adolescents, dealing with issues such as anxiety, depression, family of origin issues, grief, relationship issues, or low self esteem.
I have experience in group practice, community mental health, and private practice settings, doing psychotherapy with a wide range of clients experiencing diverse clinical concerns.
I earned a Masters Degree in Clinical Professional Psychology from Roosevelt University in Chicago, and a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin.
I give you a space to explore, feel, question, cry, scream, cuss, fall apart, and fall together. I like wrestling with whatever it is that is coming up in your heart or mind. I am open minded and care about the burdens you carry around everyday. It's hard work to grow yourself and we can work together to create and achieve your goals. I believe your story matters and holds a lot of power in shaping your life.
After 15 years in tech marketing, I went to the University of Texas at Arlington to earn my Master's in Social Work. Upon graduation, I worked toward my clinical license at a Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Program. Here, I worked with clients with severe mental health problems to find stability and gain the tools necessary to find success in life after program. This setting allowed me to work across the full spectrum of mental health issues, specifically with mood and personality disorders, trauma, self-harm, suicidal ideation, psychosis, and other high-acuity issues.
My practice started out of a deep desire to help heal trauma passed down through generations. As a child of two trauma survivors myself, I know that these wounds can begin in childhood and follow us well into our adult lives. My goal is to work together to notice and intervene in harmful patterns that keep us trapped in cycles of pain and heartbreak.
