I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who values creating a space where you feel seen, safe, and supported. I bring both professional training and lived experience into the room, which helps me connect with clients on a genuine level. My background includes working with individuals, couples, and families navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and life transitions. I’m especially passionate about supporting clients who have felt misunderstood or silenced, and I aim to meet you with compassion, curiosity, and respect as we work together.
Hi, I’m Joelle Nagel, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s from the University of Denver. I have years of experience helping clients of all ages in schools, private practice, and clinical settings. My specialties include trauma-informed care, CBT, DBT, and behavior intervention. I’m passionate about creating safe, supportive spaces where people can grow and heal. I blend compassion with structure, always meeting clients where they are.
I’m Makala Smith, a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). I am committed to providing holistic mental health care through a balanced and patient-centered approach.
My background includes neurology, trauma, and public health nursing. I earned my Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner degree from University of Colorado after I realized the need for psychiatric providers in my rural community of Meeker, Colorado and surrounding areas. By furthering my education, I am able to provide specialized, thoughtful, empathetic psychiatric care.
As a military spouse of more than 27 years and a former military BRAT, I understand what it means to navigate constant change, uncertainty, and rebuilding. Those experiences have shaped the compassionate, culturally responsive approach I bring to therapy today.
I provide virtual therapy for adolescents and adults in Texas, Colorado, and Florida, supporting individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, substance use, and major life transitions. I have a special passion for working with military members, veterans, military families, the BIPOC community, and parents and caregivers who have spent so much time caring for others that they've lost sight of themselves.
My goal is to create a space where you feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported—not judged. Together, we'll identify the patterns keeping you stuck, build practical tools for everyday life, and help you move toward healing, resilience, and lasting change at a pace that feels right for you.
Outside of therapy, you'll usually find me spending time with my family, exploring museums, trying new cuisines, baking from scratch, or working on a creative project. I believe healing happens through authentic connection, and I would be honored to be part of your journey.
Does he world feel like it has gotten a little overwhelming, or even a little nutty? You don't have to navigate it alone, therapy can be a place to slow things down, talk it through and. build practical skills to help you navigate with more clarity and confidence.
Like many, I live in and love the state of Colorado. Any chance I get I'm out exploring the outdoors. It provides balance in my personal and professional life.
As a dual-certified Family and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner I share my interests with clients I see.
When I was working full-time as a Family Nurse Practitioner I saw an unmet need in clients finding a balance in their physical and mental health. I decided to return to school to strengthen my knowledge in psychiatric mental health care.
For the past five years my focus has included seeing clients with substance dependence, MAT treatment, ADHD, Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder and Schizophrenia. I especially enjoy the 1:1 experience via telehealth seeing clients in the comforts of their own home.
Hi my name is Jules, and my journey in mental health has been marked by a profound commitment to assisting those grappling with substance use disorders and a spectrum of mental health challenges. This includes trauma, depression, anxiety, interpersonal relationship difficulties, addiction, emotional regulation, and life transitions. As a tele-health therapy practice, I can offer EMDR or talk therapy services to anyone residing in the state of Colorado.
“I help people build lives—and careers—worth living.” I specialize in guiding clients through emotional intensity, identity disruption, and vocational misalignment. We’ll also explore your values to guide our work. Humor keeps things light, and directness ensures we stay on track. Together, we’ll work toward lasting growth and confidence.I earned my Master’s in Counseling from Wake Forest University.

I hold a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from Walden University, with a concentration in trauma-informed care. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC), as well as certified in Art Therapy, Play Therapy, and Sandplay Therapy. My early career centered on supporting children and families navigating trauma, substance use, and instability, as well as individuals transitioning from incarceration and reintegrating into their communities. These experiences continue to shape my person-centered, integrative approach to care.
In my practice, I support adults and children through an individualized, holistic lens. My therapeutic philosophy draws from Person-Centered, Holistic, and Psychodynamic therapies—approaches that value empathy, self-awareness, and exploration of the connections between past and present. I believe all people have an innate capacity for growth, resilience, and healing when they are met with safety, compassion, and curiosity.
I came to counseling after having already completed a successful career and was looking for something different. I completed graduate school in Texas and have since become licensed in both Texas and Colorado. The majority of my work is in general counseling and I also work with couples and families. I have worked for University of Texas schools as well as for the University of Alabama. While working in the UT system schools I helped with veterans issues and transition to civilian life. During Covid I provided counseling for military families and first responders.
