Maryland residents struggling with trauma and PTSD can access evidence-based care through Headway's network of 2,069 licensed providers trained in Exposure Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and EMDR. Virtual and in-person sessions help with intrusive memories, nightmares, and avoidance. Insurance accepted covers most sessions affordably.
I’m a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 30 years of nursing experience and extensive work in inpatient psychiatry. I hold a Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in psychiatric mental health and care for individuals across the lifespan.
I treat depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and women’s mental health concerns, including postpartum depression.
Originally from the East Coast, I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland (go Terps!) where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Human Development. During my time there, I was selected for the Advocates for Children Scholars Program, an initiative focused on social justice, policy, and advocacy supporting children and families from diverse communities. This experience helped shape my commitment to providing compassionate, trauma-informed care for individuals and families across Maryland.
I later earned my Master of Science in Counseling from California State University, Northridge, where I specialized in Professional Clinical Counseling and School Counseling. My graduate training emphasized evidence-based approaches that support emotional wellness, build resilience, and help clients navigate life’s challenges with confidence.
I work with adults and teens who feel overwhelmed, anxious, or emotionally drained. They may be struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood changes, trauma, or life stress and feel stuck despite trying to cope alone. Others seek clarity around symptoms or support during major life transitions. Children and adolescents may struggle with emotional regulation, attention, mood changes, or behavioral concerns. Often, individuals or parents want relief and a clear path forward with a provider who listens and helps them feel more balanced, focused, and hopeful.
I operate on the belief that you possess the inherent capacity for growth and healing; my role is simply to provide the guidance and support necessary to facilitate that journey. My goal is to offer a safe, peaceful space where you feel truly heard and accepted as you navigate life’s ups and downs
I am trained as a Professional Counselor. During my academic training, in addition to my degree, I am EMDR trained. After my academic training, I started working at MeadowWood Behavioral hospital, an acute psychiatric unit. I worked with adolescents, substance abuse, and adult clients. I have worked with the Kent county health department implementing substance abuse prevention programs in middle and high schools. I believe in the old proverb "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure". Since 2016 I have been working with the Community Behavioral health providing services in an outpatient setting.
