I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor, with 14 years of experience supporting adults through meaningful personal growth and healing. I provide a compassionate, neurodiversity-affirming space where clients can explore their inner world, develop resilience, and build deeper connections — with themselves and others.
I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling and enjoy using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Attachment-Based Therapy. These evidence-based approaches allow me to support clients in processing trauma, understanding emotional patterns, and fostering lasting change from the inside out.
Life can be challenging from time to time, rather than continuing to struggle reach out and I can help you obtain the necessary skills to be confident in the decisions you make.
I am Andrea Smalls. I have been practicing since 2005 and licensed since 2007. I have a Master of Arts in Counseling and Guidance. I have worked in various settings including intensive outpatient, inpatient, private practice, and telehealth. I have worked with a variety of diagnoses to assist others in stabilizing mental health and regulating emotions.
I came to train and serve as a counselor after being helped by counseling in my 40s. Sometimes reaching out for help and making changes in life is scary and overwhelming. Sometimes we need support as we navigate these changes. I love to support my clients as they make life-giving changes.
I have been working as a clinician and an administrator for over 25 years. After gaining a Master's of Social Work, I worked in community mental health centers in Northern Arizona, Chicago, Missouri and Kansas. I have held roles as a case manager, therapist, clinical supervisor and an administrator overseeing operations of a community mental health center. Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to work at organizations across the country that focus on helping clients achieve wellness and balance in their lives. As a clinician, I am dedicated to providing personalized care to clients, and helping clients move towards wellness through the use of CBT, EMDR and other evidence based practices.
I look forward to meeting you and working with you.
