Building healthier family connections starts with the right support. Headway offers flexible therapy options across Buffalo's neighborhoods, with providers trained in evidence-based approaches to family wellness and relationship growth.
My name is Michelle Fisher, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I specialize in working with individuals who are navigating adjustment issues, or struggling with anxiety and/or depression. I have been in this field for 27 years and I thoroughly enjoy helping people to obtain a better quality of life.
With 12 years of experience as a social worker, I have worked with a vast array of individuals who are navigating anxiety, depression, and other challenges with day to day life. We all struggle once in a while, but things can get better. I understand that reaching out for support can feel overwhelming, and I strive to create a non-judgmental safe space where clients feel heard, respected, and safe.
We all get overwhelmed and new challenges can emerge, coping skills cease working, and new skills need developing. Therapy can help light the way. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, panic, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, substance use, or other concerns, therapy can provide you with the tools to cope and thrive. I want to be there to support you during this process.
Successful therapy starts with the formation of the counselor-client bond. Therapy is a relationship where a private, supportive, and non-judgmental alliance is fostered. Psychic injuries, biological dispositions, familial and life experiences shape our present. The past affects how we relate to others and why we carry wounds into the present. New and old life events can lead to self-destructive coping. Therapy can equip you with strategies to manage anxiety, improve relationships, and feel more in control of your life. Symptoms and diagnosis need not define us. We can learn to appreciate life’s joy and successes.
As a licensed mental health professional, my dedication lies in supporting you to reach your personal goals through a personalized approach. I draw from a diverse range of therapeutic methods, carefully tailored to fit your unique preferences and needs. My areas of focus include aging, health and general anxiety, depression, substance use, self harm, eating disorders, and couples counseling. I understand that facing mental health can be challenging and at times daunting or uncomfortable.
I am a licensed mental health professional dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care that supports clients in creating meaningful and lasting change. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in respect for each person’s unique experiences and strengths.
I’m Jen DiGianni, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works with adolescents and adults through individual, family, and couples therapy. I help clients navigate anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, and women’s mental health concerns, including postpartum anxiety and depression.
I believe that the strength and confidence you’re looking for already exist within you. My role is to help you uncover those strengths and build the tools needed to manage life’s challenges with greater clarity and confidence. I provide a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered to grow.
I believe that our mental and emotional state shapes how we experience and perceive life. Through my work with diverse populations, I have learned how important it is to prioritize mental health in order to create meaningful change and find fulfillment. Using my clinical experience, I now focus on working with adults who struggle with PTSD, depression, anxiety, and relationship challenges.
Starting therapy requires courage and strength even when we are in pain or dissatisfied with the way things are. It is difficult to open up to a stranger, to change the familiar ways of dealing with life and people. That is why I believe in providing a safe, nonjudgmental environment, where we will look at recurrent patterns in your life (for example why do you choose "the same type" of partners or feel so lonely or anxious, why do you often have the "same conflicts" with your bosses or friends) and gain insight into unconscious motivations of your behavior.
I specialize in behavioral excess (misuse of substances, sex and food) and mood disorders (anxiety, depression). Because of my belief in personal freedom I try to provide accepting and safe environment where we can talk about you and your life openly.
I am bilingual (Russian/English)and have extensive training in psycholinguistics.
