Hello, my name is Patty and I am here to remind you that;
You are not your struggles.
Too often, people begin to define themselves by their anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, addiction, painful experiences, or difficult circumstances. While these challenges are real and deserve attention, they do not define who you are.
I understand that life's journey can include loss, disappointment, uncertainty, and unexpected transitions. Yet,.I believe these experiences can also reveal resilience, wisdom, and strengths that may have previously gone unrecognized. Our experiences help shape our stories, but they do not determine how the story ends.
Hi there! Thank you for considering me as someone you'd have come alongside you on this leg of your journey! Here's some background about me to help determine if I'm a good fit. Let's start with a classic, I took psychology classes in high school and really enjoyed it! Pair that with a passion for helping others and a love for science, landing on studying psychology in college felt like a natural option. I completed my bachelor's degree in psychology in 2014 then went on to work in healthcare and volunteering in a mental healthcare setting until I started graduate school in 2016. At that same time, I began working as community based case manager helping people with a variety of mental health challenges like anxiety, depression and trauma. My experience in these areas expanded when I began counseling as an intern in 2018. The following year, I began as a licensed therapist, in private practice, where I've continued helping folks navigate stress, relationship dynamics, setting boundaries, processing and making sense of past experiences and holding space for thoughts, feelings, emotions and figuring out ways to create the changes they want in their lives.
I am open and honest with all my clients. I have an LISW and have work in the mental health field since I was 21, starting with working in direct care in a child residential facility, to a Workshop for intellectually disabled adults, assistant to psychologist who performed psychological testing, to 4 years as a therapist. Personally I am married with 2 wonderful children and prefer to read novels on my free time.
Hi I am Marya and I’m an LPCC and LICDC, specializing in co-occurring disorders and trauma. I have worked with various populations including juveniles, domestic violence victims, child advocacy, and adults with substance use issues. I look forward to helping you work toward your goals!
As a Licensed Independent Mental Health Therapist and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, I believe prioritizing your mental health is one of the most important steps toward stability and growth. Reaching out for help is not always easy, so I truly commend you for considering it.
I work with adults who are struggling with stress, life challenges, trauma, and addiction. I focus on helping clients build confidence and develop healthy coping skills. To enrich and gain enhanced satisfaction in their lives. My goal is to walk alongside you as you create meaningful and lasting change.
I came to this work through a deep personal journey of understanding what it means to be truly healed on emotional, psychological, and physical levels. I believe that separation from self is the root cause of suffering in body and mind. By identifying these specific fragments, there is an opportunity for true, lasting, restorative healing.
I work with clients experiencing extreme anxiety and depression, grief, insomnia, CPTSD/PTSD, and relationship issues. I also have experience with eating disorder and addiction recovery, as well as extreme attachment disruption from childhood trauma.
My communication style is one of inquisitiveness. I encourage curiosity, non-judgment, and no attachment to outcome. My tone varies depending on what is needed for the healing process. I have a compassionate, caring presence. My work is highly attuned, present, and reflective of what is presented in session.
With over 20 years of experience in healthcare, I bring a compassionate and understanding approach to mental health care. As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, I’ve had the privilege of working in a wide range of settings, including pediatrics, family medicine, cardiology, correctional health, emergency medicine, and education.
I believe that meaningful care starts with truly meeting patients where they are. My goal is to create a supportive, judgment-free environment where you feel heard, respected, and empowered to be your authentic self. Together, we work toward practical, personalized solutions that support your mental and emotional well-being.
When I’m not working, I enjoy traveling, exploring new cultures, visiting amusement parks, going on cruises, or spending quiet time at home with my husband and our two dogs.

I have been practicing as a therapist for 13 years, and have had a wide range of experience within that time. I have worked with at-risk youth in shelters, supported young adults and teens with mental health treatment after hospitalization, to now providing individual therapy in an outpatient setting. I earned my Master's in Social Work in 2014, and have been practicing with my LISW. I have mostly worked with mood disorders, like anxiety and depression, or with trauma (PTSD). As a lesbian with ADHD myself, I also specialize in neurodivergency and LGBT+ issues.
Welcome! If you’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or disconnected, you don’t have to go through it alone. I offer a warm, supportive space where you can slow down, make sense of your experiences, and begin to feel more in control.
I specialize in helping individuals work through all forms of anxiety, depression, PTSD, and trauma, as well as complex interpersonal issues such as navigating difficult family dynamics, healing from narcissistic abuse, or rebuilding after domestic violence.
I have 18 years experience working with teens, adults and later in life populations.
What was your path to becoming a mental health provider?
I always had a desire to understand people and didn't realize there was a profession centered around my curiosity until college. I was also very intrigued with trying to understand my emotions growing up and because I struggled, I developed a desire to help others through their life challenges. I started providing support services to families and volunteers through a mentoring agency, which later led to interning at a psychiatric outpatient facility, to working with foster children providing therapy and to also growing my private practice here with Alma working with adults and children.
What should someone know about working with you?
I believe I am relatable and open to the sharing of myself with the understanding and expectation that you will be entrusting your vulnerabilities with me in session. I will challenge your thoughts, your patterns and your assumptions, and I give homework routinely as an extension of our time together to keep you active and engaged until we meet again.
How do you continue learning and building new skills?
I am committed to being a life-long learner. I take courses and trainings annually, listen to and learn from seasoned clinicians and try to stay afloat of new groundbreaking research related to treatments and techniques surrounding mental health.
"Success for me, is helping others create the wellness they desire."
Life can feel overwhelming at times, and reaching out for support is a courageous step. I am dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care in a safe, nonjudgmental environment where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and challenges openly. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, life transitions, or other personal concerns, my goal is to help you feel heard, understood, and supported.

Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Searching for therapists in Hamilton starts with finding the right clinical fit for your needs. You may want support for anxiety, depression, grief, relationship challenges, stress, or a major life transition. As you compare Hamilton counselors, look for therapists whose listed specialties, training, and approach match what you want to work on. A therapist’s profile can help you understand whether they use approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, trauma-informed care, or another style that fits your preferences.
In a smaller city like Hamilton, local appointment options may be more limited than in larger metro areas, so virtual therapy can expand your choices while keeping care accessible from home. You may prefer an in-person office near Downtown Hamilton, Pleasant Avenue, or another nearby area, or you may need virtual sessions that fit around work, school, or caregiving. When narrowing your search, review whether a therapist is accepting new patients, offers appointment times that match your schedule, and provides a free phone consultation. Reading bios before booking can also show how each therapist describes their communication style and session structure.
Therapy in Hamilton can be a significant expense without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and see your estimated out-of-pocket cost before you book. Headway helps you search for therapists in Hamilton who match your preferences, accept a wide range of insurance plans, and may have availability for new patients, so you can review profiles and book directly when you’re ready.
