I am a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (TX # 14678) and Licensed Professional Counselor (TX # 91644) I have more than 25 years of experience working in the criminal justice, mental health, substance use and addiction fields. I have experience treating children, adolescents, and adults, dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, and interpersonal conflict and co-occurring conditions including addictions.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 16 years of experience in education and mental health support. I hold a Master of Education in Counseling and Guidance from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.
My professional background includes extensive experience as a school counselor, which has strengthened my ability to support individuals through life transitions, emotional challenges, and personal growth. Over time, my clinical work has expanded to include adolescents (15+), adults, and older adults.
I enjoy working with clients navigating anxiety, depression, stress, self-esteem challenges, life transitions, and relationship concerns. I also have a strong passion for working with older adults as they reflect on life experiences, cope with changes in health or independence, and find meaning and purpose in later stages of life.
In addition, I work with couples and married partners who are seeking to improve communication, rebuild trust, and strengthen their connection. I support couples in navigating conflict in healthier ways and developing a deeper understanding of one another.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and strengths-based. I strive to create a safe and supportive space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives
Hi, I’m Marilia. I offer therapy in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, and I strive to create a calm, welcoming space where you feel heard and respected. I help clients work through anxiety, depression, relationship stress, life changes, and emotional pain. My goal is to help you feel less alone, better understood, and more supported as you take steps toward healing.
I help military members, first responders, and law enforcement professionals carry the weight of service with more strength, clarity, and support through therapy built around their world. If you’re dealing with trauma, stress, addiction, relationship strain, or the silent pressure of always having to hold it together, you don’t have to face it alone. My goal is to offer a space that feels confidential, grounded, and free of judgment—where you can talk honestly without clichés, forced vulnerability, or someone who doesn’t understand the culture you come from.
Challenges shouldn’t just be endured—they should be the catalyst for your breakthrough. My goal is to help you transform life's toughest hurdles into a foundation for lasting resilience and self-discovery, giving you the tools to reclaim your strength and lead a more intentional life.
