Hello, I'm Emily - I'm happy you're here! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a passion for supporting children, adolescents, and young adults through some of life’s most challenging moments. In addition to my clinical work, I serve as a school therapist, supporting students with IEPs as they navigate emotional, behavioral, and social challenges within the school setting. For 13 years, I worked in hospitals as a Certified Child Life Specialist, walking alongside children and families as they navigated chronic illness, medical trauma, and end-of-life experiences.

Example: "I have always wanted a job where I was of service to others, but I didn't know how to channel that into a career until I took an introduction to psychology course in college. We learned a lot about mental illness, what causes it and different ways to treat it, which inspired me to pursue my degree. I loved the idea of helping others overcome mental illness and helping them achieve their life goals."

As both a mental health and addiction professional, I bring a compassionate and holistic perspective to my work with clients. I understand that each person’s experiences are unique, and I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable exploring challenges, building on their strengths, and working toward meaningful change.

My educational background reflects my commitment to understanding the connection between mental health, trauma, and overall well-being. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion with a minor in Psychology from Colorado State University–Pueblo, followed by a Master of Social Work with a concentration in Mental Health and Trauma from the University of Denver.

I provide a safe non judgmental space to get to know your patterns with an attitude of kindness. This awareness can give you the freedom to choose the direction you want instead of being driven by historical conditioning.

Andrea Uliano brings over 20 years of clinical healthcare experience, beginning her career as a clinical social worker before transitioning to a registered nurse and ultimately becoming a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. With a strong foundation in both mental health and medicine, Andrea’s practice is rooted in a holistic philosophy that prioritizes balance, connection, and individualized care.

Throughout her career, Andrea has remained committed to treating the whole person, not just the symptoms. She avoids quick fixes and extreme regimens, instead focusing on thoughtful, goal-oriented solutions that honor the deep connection between the mind and body. Her approach emphasizes collaboration, problem-solving, and long-term wellness rather than temporary results.

Originally from Long Island, New York, Andrea has called the mountains of Vail and Summit County home for the past 16 years. Living in a small mountain community has given her a unique understanding of the challenges faced by locals, allowing her to connect deeply with her patients. She has a particular passion for working with individuals navigating substance and alcohol use, anxiety, depression, ADHD, eating disorders, and women’s health concerns.

My journey towards therapy started in the forests on the Pacific Crest Trail and in the San Juan Mountains as a Wilderness Therapy Guide. I was entranced by people's stories that landed them on the trail, as well as by their takes on life. I decided to get my Master's in Counseling at Adam's State University so that I could professionally hear people's stories. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado. I have experience working with families, couples and individuals ages 12+. I am passionate about helping people manage chronic stress that seems inevitable in the current world we live in.
