I enjoy working with a variety of people who have diverse lifestyles and cultural backgrounds. My clients find me to be compassionate, supportive, and challenging when needed. I believe in building on your strengths to help you find wellness and overcome any obstacles that hold you back from achieving your life goals.
My experience in the therapy field has taken me on many paths! I have worked as a social worker linking people to services and resources and as a clinical coordination of care for populations managing mental health concerns as well as cognitive disabilities. I have been a community behavioral health clinician providing individual and group therapy as well as working on an integrated care team with physical health providers. In my therapy practice, I work with anyone seeking EMDR for either single incident or multiple/complex trauma events. I also love working with perinatal populations and therapists seeking therapy for themselves! I see individuals 18 years or older in my practice. I take a trauma-informed approach in all that I do and want to make this experience work for you!
Welcome! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and I am honest, direct, and passionate about helping people connect to their values and make positive change in their lives.
I believe that our environment, our physical health, and our mental health are intimately linked. I take a whole person approach to counseling where we will address multiple aspects of your health and functioning in order to improve your mental health. An important part of my approach is helping you to broaden your awareness and build insight into how your thoughts, behaviors, and emotions interact and may be keeping you stuck in unhealthy cycles. I also work with my clients on values identification to help guide us in developing practical steps to get you unstuck and moving forward in life in a meaningful way. My main treatment modalities are cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy.
I have experience working in inpatient, partial hospitalization, and outpatient clinical settings and I have a special interest in working with individuals struggling with anxiety, OCD, eating disorders, mood disorders, sport/performance and general life difficulties (relationship conflict, job/career changes, managing stress).

"What matters more than what you know is how much you care" is a phrase I took with me from one of my professors in Grad School. I believe that statement embodies who I am and what I bring to the practice - lots of care! With that said, I have been in practice either working in both alternative and traditional high schools, as a school-based therapist in a facility school for students with special needs, and/or in the private setting since 2016. I have worked with a wide range of ages and populations, not just kids/teens but adults too! My experience includes helping those struggling with depression, anxiety, ADHD, divorce/parenting/blended families, grief/loss, sexual abuse and other traumas, autism, intellectual disabilities with co-occurring mental health diagnoses, immigration issues, and even college/career counseling. I really enjoy working with all ages! I was a double major at University of Northern Colorado, studying both School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health. I completed all of the coursework for both tracks and the School Counseling internship, graduating in May 2017.
My introduction to helping people and psychology both came about, as a result of following my mom’s example and the Bob Newhart Show. My mother was a natural people person with a keen interest and background in psychology. My take-away from the Bob Newhart Show drove home the needs for humor and light-heartedness as well as a genuine love for what you do. I believe that those qualities: love for people and my passion and seeing the humor in things truly define me, both as a therapist and a person. My academic journey led me to both bachelors and masters degrees from The University of Northern Colorado and included intensive training in Neuro-Linguistic Programming and Hypnotherapy during my sabbatical in between my degrees. With a strong theoretical base supporting me, I moved forward and was able to blend my education with twenty years of real-world experience. I went on and diversified my experience as I worked in community counseling, community corrections, Inpatient psychiatric hospitals, and private practice. Although our learning never ceases, I feel very comfortable and sincere in offering clients my wealth of experience, knowledge of human behavior, and most of all, a kind ear.

Whether you're seeking help with anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, or another challenge, choosing a licensed provider who specializes in your area of need can make a meaningful difference. Colorado-licensed therapists include LPCs, LCSWs, psychologists, and psychiatrists — each with different training backgrounds and areas of focus. Reading a provider's bio before booking can help you understand their approach and decide if they're a good match.
With thousands of providers practicing across the state — from the Denver metro area to mountain and rural communities — narrowing your options can take time. Consider what matters most to you, such as a provider's specialty, whether they offer in-person or virtual sessions, and their availability. A free phone consultation, offered by many providers on Headway, gives you a chance to ask questions and see if the fit feels right before committing.
Therapy in Colorado can be expensive without insurance, but using in-network benefits is one of the most reliable ways to reduce what you pay out of pocket. On Headway, you can enter your insurance details to see estimated session costs before you book, and many patients pay as low as $0 per visit. Nationally, Headway partners with over 100 insurance plans, making it easier to find a provider who fits both your clinical needs and your budget.
