I am Elange Guerrelus, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 20 years of experience working with individuals, families, groups, and couples experiencing with cognitive, behavioral, emotional, and marital difficulties. I am a level 3 Gottman trained couples therapist and a certified parent instructor along with an extensive and great experience in Christian counseling. Throughout my professional experience, I utilized various psychotherapy methods and techniques to assist children and families experiencing psychological distress to improve their mental well-being. I take a Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) approach, which allows for long-term benefits in fewer sessions than other counseling models. I was intensively trained in EMDR and believe the focus of counseling is to not only work on managing your current struggles, but to develop the tools needed to independently manage future obstacles as well. I use a combination of reflective listening, as well as an instructional approach, to help guide you towards becoming the best version of you!
