Navigating loss in Maine is deeply personal. Headway connects you with 328 licensed providers trained in grief therapy and bereavement support, offering flexible virtual and in-person sessions to help you process death, honor memories, and find meaning during difficult transitions.
So far in my career, I've worked in a residential setting with female survivors of trafficking and exploitation, community mental health, private practice, support lines, and in insurance. Each setting brings different needs, but all have shown me how resilient people are and how anyone can change their life when they're ready.
Are you feeling overwhelmed or disconnected from the people and things you care about? It can be difficult to know where to begin when you're facing changes or persistent challenges. My role is to meet you exactly where you are, whether you are facing grief and loss, relationship conflict, professional stress, or a major life transition. These hardships often bring about cycles of anxiety and depression. Life transitions can be overwhelming. I’m an LCSW, here to walk alongside you as you break through limiting beliefs and move toward a more expansive self. I also have a deep passion for supporting the creative community—understanding the specific emotional highs and lows that come with being an artist, performer, or creative.
Life sometimes brings us moments where things don't feel quite right - relationships change, identities evolve, responsibilities grow, or the ways we’ve always coped stop working as well as they once did. Those moments can feel confusing, lonely, or heavy.
For more than 20 years, I’ve helped people move through those seasons of change.
Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, capable individuals who have spent years showing up for others - at work, in relationships, in their families - but feel uncertain about how to care for themselves in the same way. My clients often come to therapy feeling stuck in self-doubt, low mood, complicated family dynamics, body image struggles, or the quiet pressure to be everything for everyone.
I work with adults across many life stages - college students finding their direction, young adults building their lives, and mid-career professionals balancing work, relationships, parenting, or caregiving. I also have experience supporting military members and their families and provide affirming therapy for transgender clients.
Above all, I believe therapy should be a place where you feel respected, understood, and able to reconnect with your own voice.
I am a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) specializing in child, adolescent, and adult psychiatry.
My clinical background includes experience in adult psychiatry and pediatric mental health, working with children, teens, and young adults navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, and school or social stressors. I use evidence-based medication management combined with psychoeducation, supportive guidance, and collaboration with therapists, schools, and families when helpful.
I’m drawn to this work because I genuinely enjoy connecting with young people and helping them grow into healthier, more confident versions of themselves.
Hi, I’m Whitney, a Licensed Master Social Worker with over 15 years of experience supporting teens and adults. I provide a warm, judgment-free space where you can talk openly and feel understood. I help with anxiety, depression, life stress, trauma, and substance use, focusing on practical tools that fit your everyday life. My approach is down-to-earth, supportive, and centered on your strengths. If you’re ready to take that first step, I’d love to connect with you.
