I am a fun-loving, deep-thinking helper who is here to support you in identifying and achieving your therapy goals! I've practiced in New York, where I received my Master's Degree, and North Carolina, and I specialize in relational work to move past stressors getting in the way of achieving your potential in life.
I began working in the field of Mental Health in 2004, serving the female population. After three years, I decided to make this a career choice and studied at Springfield College to earn a master’s degree as a Mental Health Counselor. The first paid position I accepted was offered by a non-profit in Brandon, FL, where I served as a Group Facilitator and Counselor to adult and adolescent populations. In this position, I discovered my passion for counseling and helping others grow.

Is your child engaging in substance use or other risky/addictive behaviors, and you want to artfully guide them towards healthier decisions, or they’re interested in shifting their use?
Would you like support with creating family screen guidelines that keep your kids healthy, safe, and responsible, while reducing battles over it all?
Are you disconnected from your adolescent and eager for "teen whispering" skills to improve your relationship?
Then I’ve got you!
In the middle of college, at 19, I found myself in rehab, struggling with multiple addictions. This rerouted me from my dreams of Broadway to sparking a 30+ year career in the fields of prevention, early intervention and treatment of substance use disorders and other addictions. I have worked in inpatient and outpatient substance use treatment with adolescents and adults, in therapeutic schools, as a middle and high school counselor, and as a parenting coach.
I’m licensed as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Internationally Certified Advanced Alcohol & Drug Counselor, Prevention Specialist, and certified in Digital Health & Wellness. It's also important you know that my own family and close social circle are diverse humans, and I'm comfortable and specially trained to work with LGBTQ+, racial, cultural and religious diversity.
I am a licensed doctoral level therapist who specializes in helping individuals heal from trauma, depression, and anxiety. My practice is dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care for those struggling with emotional and psychological challenges. Together, we will work toward building resilience, restoring balance, and improving your overall well-being.
I am a queer-identified African American cisgender woman. My pronouns are she/her. I hold a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling degree. I have over 12 years of experience effectively treating mental health and substance abuse concerns in LGBTQIA2S+ persons (sex positive; kink affirming), BIPOC and other PGM folx, and femme-identified persons.

Headway makes it easier to find support for overcoming addiction — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Finding the right addiction therapist in Greensboro starts with understanding the type of support that fits your situation. Licensed providers who specialize in addiction and substance use may focus on areas like alcohol use, opioid dependence, or behavioral addictions. Some use approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) or motivational interviewing, while others draw on mindfulness-based or trauma-informed methods. Reading a provider's bio can help you understand their background and approach before you reach out.
Practical factors matter, too. Consider whether you prefer in-person sessions at a Greensboro office or virtual appointments from home. Look for a provider whose availability works with your schedule, and check whether they accept your insurance plan. These details can make the difference between starting care and putting it off.
Addiction counseling in Greensboro can be expensive without insurance. Using in-network benefits is one of the most reliable ways to reduce what you pay per session. On Headway, you can enter your insurance details to see estimated costs upfront, and many patients pay as low as $0 per visit. Nationally, Headway partners with over 100 insurance plans, making it easier to find an addiction therapist who is both the right clinical fit and covered by your plan.
