Welcome to my practice! My name is Nichola Lydon, and I’m excited to work with you. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), and Certified Peer Recovery Specialist. I hold a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Montclair State University.

With over six years of experience, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals facing a wide range of challenges—including substance use disorders, perinatal mood disorders, and the overwhelming stressors of daily life. Whether you’re struggling with substance use dependency, navigating a difficult transition, or feeling stuck, I’m here to help.

My approach is honest, direct, and always rooted in compassion. I believe in having the tough conversations without judgment—because healing starts with truth, not sugarcoating. I have a M.S. Mental Health Counseling graduate degree with a specialization in Substance Abuse Disorder, a M.A. Psychology graduate degree and an undergraduate B.A. Psychology degree.

I have worked in a variety of settings including hospitals, detox and rehab facilities, outpatient PCP and IOP mental health and individual private practice. I have worked with a range of different clients from many different backgrounds and ages (children, preteen, teen, adult and elderly).

I hold dual board certifications, having graduated from the University of Pittsburgh as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Herzing University as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). Additionally, my background includes years of specialized clinical training as an Oncology Nurse Practitioner. This medical expertise gives me a profound, holistic understanding of how chronic illnesses, cancer treatments, and physical diagnoses intersect with psychiatric symptoms. Whether navigating the emotional trauma, anxiety, and depression that accompanies an oncology journey, or addressing everyday mental health hurdles, I bring clinical authority and deep empathy to safely to your care.

Our practice specializes in diagnosing and treating conditions across the lifespan with children, teenagers, adults. seniors and pregnant females, including ADHD, generalized anxiety, panic disorder, depression, mood disorders, bipolar stabilization, trauma, and PTSD. We offer traditional face to face appointments at office located at 304 5th St, Trafford, PA 15085, as well as telehealth sessions for clients living anywhere throughout the state of Pennsylvania. While I have experience in treating substance use, anxiety, and mood disorders, most of my training is in addressing and helping folks to heal from past trauma. To that end, in addition to my Master's degree, I hold the following certificates as proof of my clinical training: Certificate in Traumatic Stress Studies, Certification in Prolonged Exposure for the Treatment of PTSD, and I am an EMDR Trained Clinician. I primarily provide individual counseling for adults (ages 18+).
