I have a passion for working with couples and families. I have extensive evidenced based training and provide couples counseling using Gottman Method Couples Therapy and many other therapeutic interventions. My goal is to help couples to rebuild a stronger foundation in their relationship; one in which they can experience true friendship, intimacy, and passion. In addition to working with couples and families, I work empathetically with individuals seeking a new path to personal development and emotional healing. I believe that each person has unique strengths and ideals that need to be supported and nurtured to create lifelong health and happiness. So, if you are currently feeling alone and isolated in your struggle and vulnerable while dealing with your personal traumatic experiences; childhood sexual trauma/molestation, intimate partner violence, verbal, and emotional abuse and workplace challenges; please reach out to me. If you are questioning your parenting and feel that you are failing in important life roles, please consider reaching out. You do not have to be alone.
As your therapist it is important for you to know that I am a practicing Christian and deeply rooted in my faith. I believe that one’s faith can be a source of strength while navigating difficult times. I can offer a Christian perspective in conjunction with evidence based therapeutic interventions if this is something you will find helpful. My goal is not to force my beliefs or practices onto you as I practice from a non-judgmental stance.
As a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC), I use holistic, person-centered care to diagnose, prescribe medications, and provide therapy in a practical and evidence-based way. I enjoy working with adults, adolescents, and children who have been holding a lot together while feeling overwhelmed, lonely, anxious, or shut down on the inside. My specialized areas include trauma and trauma-related disorders, including personality and dissociative disorders, as well as autism, ADHD, and bipolar disorders. I enjoy helping others to reach their fullest potential and best life possible. So contact me if you're ready to feel steady, empowered, sleep better, think clearly, and stop reacting in survival mode so you can show up for work, relationships, and yourself.
Learn to maximize your true potential. I focus on providing life skills that result in moving past feeling 'stuck' and the healing of legacy burdens. I can guide you through safe and healthy trauma healing, that last a lifetime. It is our just deserves to live a happy life with joy, hope, and success. Take the time to experience the joy of healing for yourself, the only thing you have to lose is that which no longer serves a purpose and gain a new way to living.
Welcome! I'm John Ely - formally John N. Ely, Ph.D., LPC, informally "John" or "Doc". I hold an earned doctorate in Counseling granted by Marquette University in 1980 and have over 40 years of experience and psychotherapy. I'm essentially a general practitioner but with somewhat of a specialty in treating anxiety and trauma; I'm also comfortable with treating adolescents, couples and families and with facilitating recovery from substance abuse and addiction.
I am a double board-certified Psychiatric–Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of experience across the continuum of psychiatric care, including acute psychiatric emergencies, inpatient and outpatient psychiatry, geriatric mental health, intellectual and developmental disability services, and healthcare management. I hold a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and am currently completing my Doctorate, reflecting my ongoing commitment to clinical excellence, evidence-based practice, and lifelong learning.
Throughout my career, I have worked with individuals and families navigating a wide range of psychiatric conditions, from situational anxiety and depression to severe and persistent mental illness. My clinical experience includes extensive work with schizophrenia and psychotic disorders, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD), trauma-related conditions, and mood instability across the lifespan. I am particularly experienced in caring for geriatric patients, individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and patients with complex medication regimens requiring careful evaluation, simplification, and long-term stabilization.
I also work closely with college-aged patients and adults who are navigating academic pressure, career transitions, family dynamics, identity development, and the cumulative stressors that can emerge during periods of high responsibility or change. Many of my patients are high-functioning individuals who appear “put together” on the outside but struggle internally with anxiety, rumination, intrusive thoughts, emotional dysregulation, or burnout. Others are managing chronic psychiatric illness while striving to maintain independence, relationships, and quality of life.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 30 over 30 years of experience in the mental health field and have worked with clients at all ages of the lifespan. I earned my Master of Social Work degree from Indiana University. I am licensed to practice in the states of Florida, Arizona, Indiana, Missouri and Alabama.
Hi! My name is Teri Johnson. I have been helping people to achieve stepping into the best version of themselves for over 25 years. My approach is rooted in positive psychology and development of an affirming sense of self. I have worked with individuals and families from all walks of life in overcoming addiction, negative self-image, stress, anxiety, depression, trauma and those lifelong messages that we can be burdened with today. Together we can unravel harmful experiences that are impacting who you genuinely are. I believe each person holds the strength and power to live their best life.
As a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, I am passionate about personal growth, both physically and mentally. I find balance through movement, whether it's walking my dogs, hiking, or riding my horses.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for the past 14 years, I have found that every person possesses the ability to change. I graduated with my masters degree from Loyola University Chicago where I specialized in working with older adults. I have since expanded my expertise to include all ages of adults who are experiencing trauma, depression, anxiety, or difficult life changes.
