Hey, there dear. If anxiety, mood swings, ADHD, or trauma are making daily life feel overwhelming for you or your loved one, you’re not alone — I understand how exhausting it can be to carry these challenges while hoping for balance and clarity. I’m a board-certified Family and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (DNP, PMHNP-BC), and I’m here to create a safe, welcoming space where healing and growth are possible.
I believe people carry far more strength, clarity, and resilience than they often realize. My role is to help you understand the emotional patterns and internal narratives that shape your experience, so you can move through life with greater freedom and self‐trust. I’m engaged, attuned, and honest in the room — offering reflection, insight, and steady collaboration as we explore what’s happening beneath the surface. We work at a pace that feels grounded for you, creating space for real change to germinate.
I am a licensed therapist in the state of California specializing in the treatment of trauma, anxiety and depression. Entering the field after working as an advocate for women suffering from physical and sexual violence, I have over 8 years of experience working with traumatized individuals.
With over 12 years in the field of mental health and 6 years as a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I am dedicated to supporting individuals through life’s challenges with a focus on perinatal mental health. My experience spans a range of diverse populations, and I am passionate about guiding clients through the transformative periods of pregnancy and the postpartum period.
Hello and welcome! There is so much I want to share with you!
I acknowledge that finding a therapist can sometimes feel overwhelming because you want to find a good fit, someone who “gets” you, so I thank you for being here.
I identify as a Latinx, cis gender woman, feminist, BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ ally, and spiritual. I am the granddaughter of immigrants from Mexico and the daughter of working class parents. Before coming to Marriage and Family Therapy, I earned a Master’s degree in Women’s Studies, and wrote my thesis on the jurisprudence of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. I am aware of the dominant societal structures, narratives, expectations and pressures that can impact your story and how you live it. I look forward to being alongside you as you write a preferred story – one that is fully authored by you.
Prior to focusing on Marriage and Family Therapy, I worked for close to nineteen years in higher education leadership, advising and mentoring college students at a public university in Southern California. The relationships I fostered with students and the stories they shared with me inspired me to move into Marriage and Family Therapy. Like my work with the students, my therapy work is filled with compassion, empathy and understanding. And while there may sometimes be difficult conversations and tears in our work, I also invite in laughter, lightness and joy.
I am currently scheduling online and in-person appointments. I am available Mondays- Thursdays, and Saturdays.

Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Finding the right therapist in Oakland starts with getting clear on what you're looking for. Consider whether you want help with a specific concern — such as anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or trauma — or broader support during a life transition. Look for a licensed provider (such as an LMFT, LCSW, psychologist, or psychiatrist) who has experience with your specific needs. Reading a provider's bio can help you understand their style and approach before you commit to a session.
Oakland has a large and diverse mental health community, with providers offering both in-person and virtual appointments across the East Bay. Narrowing your options by specialty, availability, and session format can make the search more manageable. Many providers also offer a free phone consultation, which gives you a chance to see if the fit feels right before booking your first full session.
Therapy in the Bay Area can be expensive, but using your in-network insurance benefits is one of the most reliable ways to reduce your out-of-pocket costs. On Headway, you can enter your insurance details to see estimated session costs before you book, and many patients pay as low as $0 per visit. Nationally, Headway partners with over 100 insurance plans, making it easier to find a therapist in Oakland who fits both your clinical needs and your budget.
