Hi, I'm Remi!
I'm a Marriage and Family Therapist. This does not mean I just work with couples and family units, I work with individuals as well! Also, means that I'm a systems thinker. Meaning, I've been trained to consider the many system dynamics ( family, friendships, employment, etc.) people take part in daily, and how these dynamics can present in one's mental health symptoms and concerns.
I have worked in the field of social services and therapy for 20 years, servicing adults and children. Prior to becoming a therapist, I was a Social Worker for several years, servicing clients who ranged in age from 102 to 5 years old. Currently, my clientele consists of adults and teens.
I am a holder of a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in the state of Minnesota and a highly results-oriented multicultural therapist with over 10 years of experience. The value I bring to therapy is building a strong therapeutic relationship with my client. I have the skills, knowledge, and ability that are required as a therapist to gather comprehensive information during an assessment, which my client and I will utilize collaboratively to develop a supportive treatment plan and coping skills for the client to implement when their mental health symptoms exacerbate. I have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a good Knowledge of cultural differences.
A former client called me "endlessly chill." I am known to wear more sweatshirts than more "professional" attire. I don't want to give off any energy that I am better than anyone who sits across from me. I am known to swear in sessions (but I do filter this per client).
I am empathetic, compassionate and listen actively to my patients.

Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Finding the right therapist in Minnesota starts with getting clear on what you're looking for. Consider the concerns you want to address — whether that's anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, grief, ADHD, or something else — and look for a licensed provider who has experience in that area. Minnesota-licensed therapists may hold credentials such as LMFT, LICSW, LPCC, LP, or PsyD, and each brings a different clinical background. Reading a provider's bio can help you understand their approach and decide if they feel like a good match.
Practical factors matter, too. Think about whether you prefer in-person sessions at a location near you — such as in Minneapolis, St. Paul, or another part of the state — or whether virtual appointments fit your schedule better. Many providers offer both. Availability, session times, and the specific therapy style a provider uses (such as CBT, DBT, or EMDR) can all help narrow your search.
Therapy in Minnesota can be a significant expense out of pocket, but using in-network insurance coverage is one of the most reliable ways to reduce your costs. On Headway, you can enter your insurance details to see an estimated session cost before you book. Nationally, Headway partners with over 100 insurance plans, and many patients pay as low as $0 per session depending on their specific coverage.
