As your mental health provider here's what I want you to know about me:
PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING, thank you.
I am a board-certified Psychiatrist (medical doctor) providing virtual care throughout NY and PA. I taper medications. This means most of my patients want to safely reduce or ultimately stop taking psychiatric medications, and I guide them through that process safely and at their own pace. I include therapy in my 30-min follow up sessions, though do not offer weekly 1-hour therapy sessions. Many of my patients also work with a therapist.
I am a licensed creative arts therapist offering both art therapy and traditional talk therapy. I work with adults navigating a range of experiences—from everyday life stressors to deeper emotional challenges and trauma. My approach is collaborative, supportive, and tailored to each individual’s needs, integrating creative expression with verbal processing to help clients gain insight, build resilience, and foster meaningful change.
I’m Theo Bizimana, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York. I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Daystar University in Nairobi, Kenya, and an Advanced Certificate in Mental Health Counseling from the University at Buffalo. I bring more than 17 years of experience supporting individuals and communities, including over 11 years of work focused on community trauma in East Africa and 6 years of clinical experience in the United States.
Therapy can be healing, communicative, and an avenue to self-discovery. It can be a way to access social skills, self-expression, and self-awareness.. Whatever the goal, utilizing the power of music as a vehicle towards these processes can be very effective. (Some of my goals and techniques are featured in a Psychology Today article on 2/18/21 "Increase Coping and Resilience by Writing a Song").
I work with adults who are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or trying to make sense of themselves during stressful or transitional periods of life. Many of the people I work with are navigating anxiety, burnout, work-related stress, or the emotional toll of caring for others. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and able to approach challenges with greater clarity and confidence.
I have particular experience working with young adults, young professionals, healthcare workers, first responders, and men—especially those who may be new to therapy or unsure where to start. Through my work across emergency, outpatient, residential, and telehealth settings, I’ve supported individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and life circumstances. This has shaped me into a flexible and adaptable clinician who is comfortable meeting clients where they are.
Hi, I'm Linda. I'm a licensed mental health counselor who works with adolescents, adults, couples, and families to help them navigate relationship challenges, life transitions, trauma, grief, loss, and mood disruptions. I obtained my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from SUNY New Paltz and specialize in couples work, utilizing an Emotionally Focused Therapy approach.

Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Searching for therapists in Beacon starts with understanding what kind of support fits your needs. People often look for therapy for anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, grief, stress, trauma, or major life changes. As you compare Beacon therapists, look for someone whose listed specialties, training, and approach match what you want to focus on. Reading therapist bios can help you learn whether they use approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, trauma-informed care, or other methods that fit your preferences.
Beacon is a smaller city, so local in-person options may be more limited than in larger parts of New York. Virtual therapy can expand your search while still connecting you with a licensed New York therapist. As you narrow your options, consider appointment availability, whether the therapist is accepting new patients, and whether they offer a free phone consultation. Therapist profiles can also show communication style, session format, and what to expect, which can help you decide who may be a strong fit before booking.
Therapy in Beacon can be expensive without insurance, and using in-network coverage is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs. Headway helps make that process easier by letting you enter your insurance details, view therapists who match your preferences, and see an estimated session cost before you book. You can compare Beacon therapy options, review bios, and book directly when you’re ready.
