I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with the state of North Carolina. I began my journey into social work and counseling after being honorably discharged from the US Army in 2006. Due to a lengthy combat tour overseas in Iraq, I was able to gain firsthand knowledge and understanding about the devastating effects Post-traumatic Stress Disorder. Close friends of mine were irrevocably changed before my eyes, and I needed to understand why that transition took place. I utilized my G.I. Bill and obtained my Master’s Degree. I have been in the social work field for over eight years, working in various settings: veteran’s programs, residential treatment facilities for youth, outpatient treatment and a substance abuse treatment facility. I have training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Trauma-Informed Care.
My belief is that real change can occur in one’s life when they work with a therapist who is genuine and unbiased; someone who has a desire to see others moving forward and living their lives to the fullest. It would be a true honor to be that individual for you or your loved one.
Your voice matters. Your feelings matter. You are important and you matter.
After more than a decade of work with clients, I believe we have an innate ability to adapt and heal when given the right space to do so. I enjoy creating an empowering space where clients access their internal strengths and confidently create the change they desire.

Searching for therapists in Monroe starts with knowing what kind of support fits your needs. You may be looking for help with anxiety, depression, grief, relationship challenges, life transitions, or work stress. Provider bios can help you understand whether a therapist uses approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, trauma-informed care, or another style of care.
Monroe is a smaller city, so local in-person options may be more limited than in larger areas of North Carolina. Virtual therapy can give you access to more licensed therapists while still letting you choose someone who understands your preferences, schedule, and insurance needs. As you narrow your search, consider appointment availability, whether a therapist is accepting new patients, and whether they offer a free phone consultation. Reading each profile before booking can help you compare communication style, specialties, and what sessions may look like.
Therapy in Monroe can be a significant expense without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and make ongoing care easier to plan for. Headway helps you find therapists, see estimated out-of-pocket costs before booking, and confirm whether your specific insurance is accepted before choosing a therapist who is accepting new patients. From there, you can review bios, compare availability, and book directly when you’re ready.
