I am from Charlotte, NC where I was born and raised. To say that my childhood had it's challenges was an understatement. It was through overcoming those challenges that I discovered my heart for helping women heal. I graduated from Appalachian State University in 2011 having studied Psychology. I fell in love with the mountains and working with female survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. This spurred me onward to complete my Masters in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2015. I have been a licensed therapist since 2016 and recently transitioned into private practice. I have a 3.5 year old son and we live happily in Weaverville, NC where we regularly hike, swim, and take in the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains that we are lucky to call home.

In my past position of working as clinical Therapist, a large part of my clientele was working with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, Communication, and focusing on working with women primarily. I would like to continue to with that focus. In the past I also worked with children and families with Intensive In Home, and people who were homeless, primarily women, with ABCCM. I'm a dog-obsessor, nerd for flowers, and avid audiobook listener. I've been working in therapeutic settings since 2011. Over the years, I’ve learned a lot about how to help others as they struggle, succeed, and move into becoming the person they’ve always wanted to be. I've learned the power of warmth & empathy... and also how to be straight up when my clients need to hear the truth.
It’s also probably helpful for you to know that I can’t help but drop the “f-bomb” at least once a minute. Oops.

Licensed providers like LCSWs, LCMHCs, LPCs, and psychologists offer talk therapy, while psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners can also prescribe medication. Reading a provider's bio can help you understand their approach and decide if they're a good match.
Asheville has a large and diverse mental health provider community, which means you have options — but it can also make narrowing your search feel like a lot. Practical factors matter: whether you want in-person sessions in neighborhoods like downtown Asheville, West Asheville, or South Slope, or prefer the flexibility of virtual visits. Scheduling, availability, and whether a provider specializes in the type of therapy you're interested in (such as CBT, EMDR, or DBT) are all worth considering as you compare profiles.
