My hope is to be able to help others navigate life's obstacles with an authentic and nonjudgmental approach.

I specialized in Trauma while earning my degree and have helped many individuals, couples, and families work through and overcome the aftermath of traumatic events. I also have several years of experience helping people struggling with anxiety and depression.

One of the most important aspects of the therapeutic healing process is the connection between the client and therapist, so I encourage authentic communication if you do not feel we are a good fit as it can be an example of advocating for yourself in a powerful way.

I have lived in the Truckee Tahoe area off an on for over 30 years, I have an AA Degree in Early Child Development, a BA Degree from the University of California Santa Cruz, and I attended the University of. Nevada, Reno for my Masters in Social Work.

My husband and I have two grown children who live in Northern CA and Nevada. We are avid skiers, mountain bikers, and my hobbies include cooking, art, writing, and learning, and of course, playing with our mini golden doodle, Joaquin.

My roots are in Scranton, Pennsylvania; growing up, life was challenging and unpredictable for me and my sisters. I was the first member of our extended family who was able to put themselves through both undergraduate (BA - Latin American Studies/UCSC, and graduate school (MSW- Masters in Social Work, (UNR) and graduate with honors.

All three of my younger sisters followed in my footsteps to pursue higher education and to find success as Professionals.

My husband and I moved to the Tahoe/Truckee area together in the early 1990s, pursuing seasonal employment. We somehow made ends meet, things got a little easier each year, and he later pursued a career in resort and business management, while I pursued continuing education, mental health and licensure, and opening up my practice.

Our son and a daughter both grew up enjoyed attending local public schools in Truckee, and later the Univeristy of California; they are both living fulfilling adult lives in the nearby region.

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Berkeley, CA, and I’ve worked in mental health care since 2012. My background includes community-based work, trauma-informed care, and leadership in training and clinical development. I earned my MSW from NYU and specialize in treating anxiety, self-esteem challenges, and life transitions. I enjoy working with adults navigating changes - career shifts, identity questions, or simply trying to feel more at home in themselves. Clients often say they feel safe, understood, and more at ease after we talk. I believe therapy works best with a good sense of humor - even in hard sessions, there’s room for relief and laughter.

Find the right therapist for you

Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.

Factors to Consider When Choosing a Therapist in Mission Viejo

Finding the right therapist in Mission Viejo starts with identifying what you're looking for. Consider the concerns you want to address — such as anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or life transitions — and whether you prefer in-person sessions in South Orange County or virtual visits. Providers on Headway include licensed therapists, psychologists, and counselors trained in approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), EMDR, and more. Reading a provider's bio can help you understand their style and decide if they're a good match before booking.

Therapy in Mission Viejo can be expensive without insurance. Therapy in Orange County may be costly without insurance, and out-of-pocket costs can vary. Using your in-network benefits is one of the most reliable ways to lower that cost. On Headway, you can enter your insurance details to see estimated session costs upfront, and many patients pay as low as $0 per visit. Nationally, Headway partners with over 100 insurance plans, making it easier to find a provider who fits both your clinical needs and your budget.

If you're a parent looking for a teen or adolescent therapist in Mission Viejo, Headway's directory includes providers who specialize in working with younger age groups. You can review each provider's profile to learn about their experience, areas of focus, and whether they offer virtual or in-person sessions — so you can feel confident in your choice before the first appointment.
