Hello and Welcome
With 30 years of experience as a licensed marriage, family therapist, my journey began at Sacramento California, where I first received my license and found my calling serving families within the community. Over time I found my way into private practice where my reach into the community grew and a deep passion for working with adults at various stages of their life emerged and one that has become central to my calling as a therapist.
Throughout my career, I have remained deeply committed to learning and growing alongside the field pursuing, continued education and certifications.
My clients often want to know a little about the person behind this practice. I am someone who loves to travel and spends time outdoors . Camping and water adventures are always my happy place and those who know me best will tell you with a knowing grin that I have never met an animal I didn’t love
I believe wholeheartedly that it is vital for me to live a congruent life, to bring my heart and desires into a living presence My passion to live with purpose, curiosity and joy is core to who I am and this is how I show up for my clients every single day.
From your very first visit, you will be received warmly with quiet encouragement and assurance that this is a safe relaxed welcoming space just for you.
I am passionate of all things mental health! I enjoy working in crisis situations, and supporting individuals going through the ups and lows of life. My goal is to sprinkle confidence and joy into life
My counseling style has been described as warm, affirming and genuine, with a strengths-based perspective and occasional touches of humor. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and have been working in Private Practice as a therapist for 6 years. In the past I've worked with adults who are experiencing the need to make adjustments to life situations, as well as individuals who are requesting help in overcoming anxiety, depression, and Post-traumatic Stress Disorder.
I know starting therapy can feel awkward. Sharing your inner world with someone new takes courage — but it can also be the start of genuine growth and healing. My goal is to make that step easier by creating a space that feels safe, warm, and grounded in understanding.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in California, educated in Oregon, where my appreciation for nature, reflection, and connection began. I provide therapy for adults in California, helping people navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, identity transitions, and life stress.
Over the years, I’ve worked in hospitals, rural community clinics, emergency departments, psychiatric hospitals, and outpatient psychotherapy, which has given me a deep respect for resilience and the many ways people adapt and heal.
I'm Austin Chenoweth, an LMFT with over four years of experience helping teens and adults work through anxiety, depression, and the deeper patterns driving them. I trained at Santa Clara University and take a relational, depth-oriented approach to therapy — which means I'm less interested in managing symptoms and more focused on
understanding what's underneath them.
I see clients via telehealth throughout California, and I work with people 13 and older. I genuinely enjoy the work of therapy, and I believe the relationship we build together is the most powerful tool we have for treatment.
It is my prayer to build a practice that helps you reach a place where your mental health is truly at the forefront. My hope is that with each appointment—and each day—you feel supported in moving closer to the best version of yourself.
I’m a doctoral-prepared, board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who works with clients across the lifespan. I earned my Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of Arizona and have experience caring for individuals in outpatient, intensive outpatient, and higher-acuity mental health settings. My background includes treating anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma-related concerns, OCD, mood disorders, and substance use. I take a thoughtful, practical, and individualized approach to care, with the goal of helping clients feel understood, safe, supported, and comfortable being honest when feeling emotionally vulnerable.
Support throughout life, especially during life transitions, is critical yet often hard to find. Family and friends may be unavailable or simply not understand. Furthermore, guilt, shame and overwhelm can complicate navigating transitions, whether due to a significant loss, medical diagnosis, new beginnings or a host of other reasons.
I am a licensed mental health therapist who is well versed in providing support to diverse individuals working through life transitions including the immense pain and harsh reality that grief and loss can bring. I am also a trained perinatal mental health therapist with a passion for providing support during preconception, pregnancy, postpartum and beyond.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California and a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Washington, DC. I provide psychotherapy to adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and life transitions.
I currently work with the Integrative Digestive Health team at UCLA Health and also provide therapy through Lyra Health. I bring extensive experience across medical and mental health settings, including six years as a liver transplant social worker at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, work on the first COVID unit at George Washington University Hospital, and leadership roles in community mental health organizations in Washington, DC.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and client-centered, grounded in trauma-informed care. I primarily use cognitive behavioral and solution-focused therapies while tailoring treatment to each individual. I have particular expertise in trauma, the intersection of physical and mental health, and interpersonal relationships. I offer both short- and long-term therapy and believe meaningful change happens in a space that feels safe, supportive, and authentic.
I am happy to provide a free 15-minute consultation (upon request) to ensure a good fit. To request a consultation, please email: [email protected].
Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, hiking in the Los Angeles mountains, kayaking, and spending time with my rescue dog, Sophia.
Thank you for considering me. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California. I have a Masters in Social Work from the University of Southern California where I studied Adult Mental Health an Wellness and Military Social Work. I specialize in the Veteran and First Responder populations.

Searching for therapists in Orange starts with knowing what kind of support you want from therapy. People look for therapy for many reasons, including anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, grief, trauma, and life transitions. As you compare therapists, look for training and listed specialties that match your needs. A therapist who mentions approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, or acceptance and commitment therapy may be a fit if those styles align with what you want from care.
Orange has local therapists, but nearby availability can vary across Orange County. Virtual therapy can expand your options while still letting you choose a California-licensed therapist who fits your schedule. As you narrow your search, consider appointment times, whether the therapist is accepting new patients, and whether they offer a free phone consultation. Reading each therapist’s bio can help you understand their communication style, areas of focus, and what sessions may be like before you book.
Therapy in Orange can be a significant investment without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and make ongoing care more affordable. Headway helps you search for therapists who accept a wide range of insurance plans, see estimated out-of-pocket costs before booking, and compare available therapists in one place. You can browse profiles, review specialties, and book directly when you’re ready.
