Hello and I am so glad you are here! Since beginning my clinical practice in 2008 I have learned the foundation for healing lies in the therapeutic relationship, therefore our first few sessions are about building a foundation of trust. I focus on deeply listening to your story and understanding the specific concerns that led you here. I’ll share how my approach works—blending clinical expertise with a genuine, person-centered focus—and we’ll collaborate on a roadmap that feels right for you. My goal is to provide a judgement free space where you can become curious about your challenges, gain clarity, and begin moving toward the life you envision.
I am a husband, a father of two adult children, and a corgi dad. I am not a true Mainer as I moved here about 4 years ago from Pennsylvania where I spent most of my life. But, I have adopted Maine as my own. I love the outdoors and spend as much time as I can in them.
As far as the more formal stuff, I spent a lot of time in school. My credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Ursinus College, a Masters of Education in Counseling from Rutgers University, an Executive Masters of Business Administration in Healthcare Administration from California Pacific University, a Masters and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and a Juris Doctorate in Law all from Widener University.
I have 20+ years management experience in behavioral health, managed care, academia and private practice settings. I have run my private practice for more than 30 years, have been a program administrator, corporate compliance/privacy officer, clinical director, program chairperson, and director of quality management during my career. I have taught at more than 20 colleges and universities. I have advised, supervised, trained, and taught hundreds of graduate students and professional counselors. I have also presented at many state, regional and national conferences and provided numerous trainings to social service and criminal justice professionals.
It's amazing to meet you!
I’m Mariam Arabambi, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 15 years of experience in healthcare. I’m passionate about helping individuals find balance, healing, and hope through compassionate, evidence-based care. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered on your journey toward wellness.
My name is Wanda Barnes, I am a licensed mental health therapist LMHC in Florida and a licensed professional counselor (LPC), in the State of Maine. I started working in substance abuse at 17 years old driving the bus that took clients to AA/NA. Many years later I am still passionate about working with those who struggle with addiction of any kind or those who love them. I also worked 9 years with children and families in schools and foster care. Later I opened and operated a mental health clinic in Florida.
( I currently only provide medication management no individual therapy)
I am a dual-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with over 15 years of experience in healthcare. My background spans primary care, urgent care, and mental health, allowing me to approach each client with a comprehensive understanding of both physical and emotional well-being.
I specialize in diagnosing and treating a wide range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, trauma-related disorders, ADHD, and mood disorders. My practice focuses on providing evidence-based medication management paired with supportive, collaborative care. I believe in meeting clients where they are, empowering them through education, and tailoring treatment plans to their unique needs, preferences, and goals.
My approach is warm, non-judgmental, and holistic. I value building strong therapeutic relationships and creating a safe space where clients can feel heard, understood, and supported.
If you’re looking for compassionate, thorough, and personalized care, I’m here to help you take the next step in your mental health journey.
As an Asian American & combat veteran, I know firsthand the weight of trauma, transitions and the unique challenges men face when carrying invisible wounds. My practice is dedicated to serving veterans, first responders, and others who have experienced trauma, as well as, men navigating identity, relationships, and resilience. I strive to create a space where you feel understood, respected, and supported without judgement. I bring a blend of dividends-based therapies and specialized in training to help clients heal and grow. I utilize CBT-I to address sleep issues, IFS, and ACT to help clients heal.
For couples, I bring my Level II Gottman Method training to support partners in rebuilding trust, improving communication, and navigating conflict in healthier ways. Whether you are facing the aftermath of combat, the pressures of first responder work, or the complexity of men’s issues, therapy is about developing practice skills and exploring deeper healing.
I know what it’s like to feel the pressure to “tough it out” or stay silent. Therapy with me is about creating a space where you don’t have to. If you’re ready to explore a path forward-whether in individual or couples therapy- I’d be honored to walk with you.
I’m Latoya Smith, a licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over a decade of experience helping adults navigate anxiety, depression, and major life transitions.
I’m not just a therapist—I’m a mom, a mentor, and a middle child from a big Miami family. I know what it’s like to juggle responsibilities, to feel unseen, and to keep pouring from an empty cup. That lived experience shapes how I connect, how I listen, and how I help.
Clients should know that I bring warmth, curiosity, and a deep respect for their lived experiences into the therapy room. I approach therapy as a collaborative process, where your voice and goals guide our work. I integrate Narrative Therapy and use humor thoughtfully to create connection, ease, and insight. I'm not here to “fix” you—I’m here to walk alongside you as you explore, reframe, and grow. I believe change happens when people feel seen, heard, and safe enough to be their full selves.
