I serve a broad population of clients coping with crisis, trauma, faith-based issues, relationship and marital issues, substance use and addictions, anger management and emotional dysregulation, career decisions, self-esteem and self-efficacy skill development, and other challenges clients are facing.
My philosophy is meeting clients where they are, without bias or judgment. I believe the client is the expert in their own life, and I am here to walk beside, providing the tools and techniques to support finding solutions and healing. I use an integrative theoretical approach to tailor services to meet the clients' needs. I work with clients from a holistic approach.
I have a Ph.D. in Counseling Education and Supervision, a Master's in Professional Counseling, a Masters in Health Care Administration, and a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing. I am licensed in Wisconsin as a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Registered Nurse.
I’m a licensed therapist with a background in social work, and I’ve worked in both clinical and community settings supporting people through anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and moments where things just feel “off.” Whether you’re navigating stress, relationship challenges, burnout, or a deeper sense of feeling stuck, I’m here to help you make sense of it and move forward.
My approach is collaborative, down-to-earth, and tailored to you. I’m not the kind of therapist who just nods along—I’ll actively engage with you, offer insight, and help you connect patterns so you can create real, lasting change. I aim to create a space where you feel comfortable being fully yourself, while also gently challenging what’s no longer working.
I also specialize in Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) through a partnership with Journey Clinical, working alongside medical providers who prescribe and monitor treatment. This can be a powerful option for those who feel stuck in traditional approaches or are looking for a deeper level of healing and perspective.
I work with adults from all walks of life who are ready to better understand themselves, improve their relationships, and feel more grounded and aligned in their day-to-day lives.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with adults and young adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, and emotional overwhelm. I strive to create a warm, supportive, and collaborative space where clients can feel safe exploring difficult experiences while building great self- awareness and lasting change. My approach is grounded in relational and experiential therapy, while also integrating evidence- based techniques tailored to each client's unique needs. I value authenticity, curiosity, and helping clients reconnect with themselves in meaningful and empowering ways.
About Me
I am a dual-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 30 years of experience in healthcare. For over a decade, I have had the privilege of serving the Manitowoc and Sheboygan communities through Lakeshore Community Health, now Noble Community Clinics, providing comprehensive care in both primary care and behavioral health settings.
My clinical passion lies in helping individuals struggling with mental health conditions, substance use disorders, and the effects of trauma. I have extensive experience providing Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), including Suboxone and Vivitrol, and I am committed to supporting patients through recovery with a compassionate, structured, and evidence-based approach.
I believe healthcare should focus on the whole person—not just symptoms or diagnoses. Physical health, mental wellness, emotional well-being, lifestyle habits, and environmental factors all play an important role in overall health. My goal is to create a safe, supportive environment where patients feel heard, respected, and empowered to take an active role in their care.
As the founder of Mind & Body Renew, I combine traditional medicine with functional and integrative approaches to help identify and address the root causes of illness. I am passionate about partnering with patients to create individualized treatment plans that promote healing, long-term wellness, and a better quality of life.
Originally from Texas, I moved to Wisconsin in 1999 after my marriage and have proudly called this community home ever since. My husband and I have raised four wonderful children and are blessed with nine grandchildren who bring tremendous joy to our lives. When I am not caring for patients, I enjoy spending time with family, traveling, and spoiling our two beloved fur babies.
I look forward to partnering with you on your journey toward better health, healing, and renewal.
I’ve spent my career supporting people who have experienced trauma, mental health, and substance use issues. I have used a mix of traditional talk therapy, art and adventure therapies to assist in the healing process. I have been in practice since 2002 after completing my master's in social work at Simmons University in Boston, Massachusetts. Prior to completing my master's I worked in the social work field, working as a case manager and substance use counselor, and volunteering at my local domestic abuse program answering the crisis hotline, facilitating community support groups, and assisting in the annual walk for women's safety. I work with children, adults, families, couples, and groups. My style is natural and organic, giving you space to heal in a way that feels right for you. My approach is person centered. My focus is to help you build trust and safety at your own pace and create a strong therapeutic relationship for you to heal.
Hi, I'm LaRae! I am a licensed clinical social worker. I have experience working with adults and teens struggling with anxiety, life changes, and trauma. I am especially passionate about my work with women and members of the LGBTQ+ community!
I come to therapy with a background in education and theater, which has deeply shaped how I connect with people and understand the human experience. My work is rooted in helping individuals better define who they are, where they want to be, and what may be standing in the way of getting there.
I believe therapy is a collaborative process built on curiosity, honesty, and growth. Together, we’ll identify obstacles, explore patterns, and engage with challenges in a meaningful way until we find solutions that truly work for you. My goal is to provide a space where you feel understood, supported, and empowered to move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
