Therapy is for anyone and not a one-size-fits-all routine. I believe in working alongside clients to determine the best path forward. A safe space will always be provided but growth comes from discomfort and admitting to how we exist outside of what may be considered normal.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California, and I have really wanted to build
something of my own for a long time. Going into private practice was not an impulsive decision. It is something I have thought about carefully, and I am committed to making it work well for the people I work with. My background includes clinical work with adults and families
across a range of settings from psychiatric hospitals, to non profits and private practice. I am based in the Coachella Valley and serve clients throughout
California via telehealth. I am also in the process of establishing an in-person office here in the
valley, because I know how hard it can be to find consistent, quality mental health care locally.
I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. I also work with people dealing with chronic stress, relationship challenges, and the kind of emotional weight that builds up when life keeps asking more of you than you feel you have to give. I have a
particular connection to working with Latino and bicultural clients, single parents, and people who are navigating coparenting and the identity shifts that come with it.
If you have tried therapy before without the results you hoped for, you may need a more targeted, effective approach. Over the past 15 years of my practice as a clinical psychologist, earning your trust and helping you establish a secure, empowering baseline for your care has been a profound privilege. As a former instructor at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and a provider at the UCLA Insomnia clinic, my goal is to provide more than just a space to talk—I offer the specialized, gold-standard steps necessary to create measurable, lasting change. At my practice, YCBT Services, I focus on working with adolescents, adults, and seniors who feel stuck despite their best efforts, specifically targeting generalized anxiety, social anxiety, OCD, panic disorders, and chronic insomnia. By addressing the underlying triggers that keep you on high alert, I am fiercely committed to helping you move beyond surface-level coping to reclaim your peace of mind.
Great to meet you!
As a licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist, I believe prioritizing mental health is key to happiness and overall well-being. Seeking help can be very difficult, so congratuations on taking that first step! I've been working to help teenagers and young adults over the past 15 years and look forward to supporting you in this journey!
Welcome! I believe that healing begins with feeling seen, heard, and understood. I bring a warm, compassionate, and nonjudgmental approach to therapy, creating a space where you can feel comfortable being yourself. My goal is to truly listen, understand your unique experiences, and work alongside you as you navigate life's challenges. Together, we can build on your strengths and create meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you.
We all struggle at times with feelings of unresolved hurt, anxiety, depression, and anger. These feelings can rob us of the joy we might normally experience in our selves and our relationships. It is never easy to admit to having personal issues or to examine our past experiences. We all want to be heard and know that someone is listening to us. We want to have confidence in our relationships that they are healthy, loving and dependable. Sometimes these questions are more fundamental. What are we doing with our lives? We all want to be whole, confident in who we are and in our relationships. We want to be our best selves.

Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Searching for therapists in Atascadero starts with finding someone whose training matches what you want to focus on. Therapists may support concerns like anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, grief, stress, and life transitions. As you compare options, look for specialties, therapy styles, and experience that connect to your needs. Provider bios can help you understand whether a therapist uses approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, trauma-informed care, or family therapy.
In a smaller city like Atascadero, local in-person options may be more limited than in larger parts of San Luis Obispo County. Virtual therapy can expand your search while still connecting you with a therapist licensed in California. Consider practical factors like appointment availability, whether a therapist is accepting new patients, and whether they offer a free phone consultation. Reading profiles before booking can also help you compare communication style, session structure, and what to expect in your first appointment.
Therapy in Atascadero can be a significant investment without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and understand what you may pay before care begins. Headway helps you search therapists who accept a wide range of insurance plans, verify your benefits, and see an estimated out-of-pocket cost before you book. You can browse therapists in Atascadero, review bios, and book directly when you’re ready.
If anyone in your family is experiencing or worried about abuse, threats, or coercion, joint family or couples therapy usually isn't the right starting point — individual support is safer. The Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline (1-800-422-4453) and National Domestic Violence Hotline (1-800-799-7233, or text START to 88788\) can help you think through next steps.
