Hey you, I'm Angie, an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist and supervisor, with more than 15 years experience in the sexuality field, supporting sexuality communities, and teaching others to break the sex and gender boxes we were given. In addition to my professional roles, my own journey towards breaking those boxes uniquely prepared me to sit with you, wherever you are, on this journey.
Have you struggled to find a therapist who you can be completely transparent with in regards to your sexuality or gender? Hidden your identities, desires, and challenges, for fear of judgment, shame or rejection? Sexuality is a challenging topic, one that most therapists don't receive much training around. As a result, even therapists can be afraid to broach sensitive topics, which makes it even harder for you when your mental health, relationship challenges, and overall well-being is so interrelated to your sexual health.
This can include healing sexual trauma or harm, exploring early childhood development and shame, permission giving to different identities, expressions and desires, and creating pathways to your fullest most expansive self.
Topics I'm passionate about include closing orgasm gap, healing sexual trauma, queer love, healing homophobia, gender expansive exploration, non-monogamy and open relating, kink/ BDSM/ fetish exploration, distress of sex workers (whorephobia and stigma) and those who've experienced trafficking, and finding pleasure after religious/ cult repression. I share many of these identities, and always seek to learn how your unique experience informs the distress.
We work together to create a safe container for your diverse and erotic self, learning how to integrate those selves into your relationships and your life. Pleasure is key to mental health and well-being.

Sometimes a thoughtful conversation with the right person can make all the difference. As an experienced therapist, husband, and father, I bring both professional training and real-life wisdom to help people navigate life’s challenges. Over many years of both life and clinical work, I’ve had the privilege of helping people move through difficult seasons, gain clarity, and reconnect with their strengths. Whether this is your first time seeking therapy or you’re returning after time away, it’s normal to feel uncertain. Our first conversation is simply a starting point. I often work with people facing life transitions, relationship challenges, or feeling stuck, seeking clarity and a practical path forward. Together, we’ll slow things down, understand what’s happening, and identify steps that help move you forward. If you are going through a difficult season, you don't have to navigate it alone.

All of these issues and symptoms have a point to make for us to understand our selves better. Working with adolescents in Residential Treatment Centers, Transitional Youth Living Programs, adult and veterans of all ages, there is one common denominator - if you want your life to be better, we can find your individual path and you might become your own Master. We'll apply, or challenge, your believe system, to make positive changes.
I help my clients resolve their problems, learn coping skills, and set their spiritual and/or religious path. Increasing client's understanding of self and accepting life with all the pluses and minuses, learning from the past without the judgment might be a difficult goal to achieve.
Many people come to therapy carrying pain that is difficult to put into words. You may understand why you're struggling, yet still find yourself repeating the same patterns, feeling stuck in painful relationships, grieving losses, or wondering why lasting change feels out of reach. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, infertility, trauma, stress, family concerns, maternal mental health challenges, and life transitions. Many of my clients are thoughtful, insightful people who want more than temporary relief, they want to understand themselves more deeply and create meaningful, lasting change. Together, we'll explore the experiences, relationships, and emotional patterns that have shaped your life while building greater self-awareness and self-compassion. My goal is to help you gain clarity, strengthen your relationships, and create a life that feels more connected, purposeful, and authentic.

Headway makes it easier to find family-focused support — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Finding a family therapist in Los Angeles starts with identifying what your family is working through. Family therapy can address a wide range of concerns — from communication difficulties and parent-teen conflict to adjusting after a divorce, blending households, or navigating grief. Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFTs) are specifically trained to work with family dynamics, though psychologists, licensed clinical social workers, and professional counselors also provide family therapy.
In a metro as large as Los Angeles, narrowing your options can feel like a project in itself. Consider what matters most — whether that's a provider who works with specific age groups, offers virtual sessions, speaks your family's language, or practices near neighborhoods like West Hollywood, Encino, or Redondo Beach. Reading a provider's bio before booking can help you understand their style and approach so you can feel more confident going in.
Family therapy in Los Angeles can be expensive without coverage, but using in-network insurance is one of the most direct ways to reduce your out-of-pocket costs. On Headway, you can enter your insurance details to see estimated session costs before you book, and many patients pay as low as $0 per visit. Nationally, Headway partners with over 100 insurance plans, making it easier to find a family therapist who is both the right fit and covered by your plan.
