Family challenges don't wait, and neither should your care. Headway's network of 209 providers in Minnesota offers evidence-based family therapy to help Rochester households communicate better and strengthen relationships. Most sessions are covered by insurance with copays starting low.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over two decades of clinical experience. My work has focused on helping people understand themselves more deeply, strengthen relationships, heal from difficult experiences, and create meaningful change in their lives.
I believe lasting change happens when we move beyond simply understanding a problem intellectually and begin experiencing ourselves differently. Together, we explore patterns, emotional and bod responses, beliefs, and relationship dynamics that may have developed as adaptations earlier in life but are no longer serving you.
Clients often describe me as warm, direct, engaged, and insightful. I tend to be an active therapist who asks questions, offers observations, and helps connect patterns that may be difficult to see from the inside. While therapy can be challenging, I believe it should also feel collaborative, practical, and grounded in hope.
Licensed therapist with an athletic edge, helping high-performers, adventurers, and everyday athletes build resilience, confidence, and balance — in life, sport, and mental health. Passionate about wellness health, the outdoors, and meaningful growth, I combine evidence-based therapy with a grounded, active approach that supports both mind and body. Whether on the trail, in training, or navigating major life transitions, I help clients strengthen their mental game and reconnect with what makes them feel alive. I also assist with grief/loss and trauma.
I am a military veteran with over 20 years of experience in the mental health field, with a specialized focus over the past decade on men’s mental health, including court-ordered assessments and mandated treatment services. My clinical approach is grounded primarily in evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which I utilize to support clients in developing emotional regulation, coping skills, and sustainable behavioral change. In my current role, I conduct comprehensive mental health screenings, coordinate and oversee integrated care services, and provide direct clinical support within a substance use inpatient treatment setting. Additionally, I dedicate part of my practice to serving a rural Tribal Native American community through a mental health clinic, where I provide culturally responsive and community-informed care.
I also strongly advocate for men navigating systems where they are often disproportionately penalized or misunderstood, working to ensure their mental health needs are appropriately recognized and addressed within legal, correctional, and treatment environments. My professional focus includes supporting fair, trauma-informed approaches that balance accountability with rehabilitation. I have specialized experience working with individuals diagnosed with psychotic disorders and mood disorders, providing psychoeducation to clients and their families—particularly during the early stages of diagnosis—and delivering life skills training to promote stability, independence, and long-term success in community living.
I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Minnesota and Wisconsin, and I’m passionate about creating a welcoming space where you can be fully yourself. I specialize in working with people navigating gender, sexuality, trauma, and life transitions, blending evidence-based tools with a compassionate, collaborative approach. I provide a space rooted in safety, deep listening, and compassion. Healing is a sacred journey—a process of growing insight, clarity, and wisdom while reclaiming wholeness and transforming pain into purpose. Together, we can explore the paths that lead to a satisfying life filled with peace, joy, and mastery.
Whether you're navigating a difficult season or seeking long-term support, I’m here to walk alongside you with empathy, insight, and unwavering care.
As a mother of five, I understand the complexities of life, relationships, and emotional resilience. I became a therapist to help others feel less alone and to guide those struggling with mental illness toward hope and healing. I’m passionate about breaking the stigma around mental health and helping people reclaim their voice, strength, and sense of self. With over 20 years of experience in the mental health field, I’ve had the privilege of working with children, teens, and adults across a wide range of challenges — including anxiety, trauma, and depression.
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in Minnesota and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Montana, with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
A former client called me "endlessly chill." I am known to wear more sweatshirts than more "professional" attire. I don't want to give off any energy that I am better than anyone who sits across from me. I am known to swear in sessions (but I do filter this per client).
As a therapist, I’ve been working with youth and families for over 12 years in the mental health field. I have experience in school settings providing individual and group counseling to children and teens, as well as in-home family therapy supporting families experiencing high stress.
I often work with children and adolescents who are struggling with anxiety, ADHD, big emotions, anger, grief, or family conflict, and who may feel overwhelmed at school or at home. I strive to create a supportive environment where young people feel understood and empowered.
Hello, I'm Dan. Welcome! I'm glad that you're here and that you've chosen to begin or continue your journey in therapy. I’m a licensed therapist based in Rochester, Minnesota, my home since 2010. I earned my undergraduate degree in psychology from Florida State University before enlisting in the U.S. Army, where I served honorably for 25 years. While on active duty, I completed the coursework for my Master’s degree in counseling from Winona State University and went on to finalize my internship and graduate in 2015, shortly after retiring from service in 2014.
