I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I have been in private practice since 2020, primarily working with mental health issues (depression and anxiety) and substance abuse. Prior to this, I worked with kids and families as well as other case management roles, for about 10 years. I have worked with people of all ages and from all walks of life. I enjoy working with just about everybody, and I look forward to getting to know a little bit more about you and your life.
I provide trauma-informed, attachment-focused therapy for adults. Many relational struggles are not character flaws. They are adaptations- ways you learned to survive, stay connected, or protect yourself. Together, we slow down enough to understand those adaptations and gently shift what no longer serves you. This work is intentional. It requires honesty, curiosity, and a willingness to look beneath the surface. And it creates lasting change.
Amanda has seventeen years of experience working in the mental health field. Throughout her career, Amanda has worked directly with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, change of life issues, substance abuse, trauma, eating disorders, mood disorders, family conflict, relational conflict, grief and loss and ADHD
I have dual Master’s Degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Education. My background in education consist of teaching elementary and middle school children, which allows me to connect with children and adolescents very easily. I also have worked with parents and guardians to overcome hurdles associated with parenting and kinship care.
Life is a journey. Sometimes, it's a really really arduous trek! I would be honored to join with you as you progress in personal development and hopefulness. I am EMDR trained to assist in processing trauma, anxiety and other issues. My office is conveniently located in Richardson, TX, however I also offer remote therapy to individuals throughout Texas.

Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Finding the right therapist in Texas starts with getting clear on what you're looking for. Consider the concerns you want to address — whether that's anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, trauma, or something else — and look for a licensed provider with experience in that area. Texas-licensed therapists include Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs), Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFTs), and psychologists, each with different training backgrounds. Reading a provider's bio can help you understand their approach and decide if they're a good match.
With Texas being the second-largest state in the country, access to in-person care varies widely depending on where you live. Virtual therapy makes it possible to connect with a licensed provider from anywhere in the state, whether you're in a major metro area or a smaller community. Many providers on Headway offer both virtual and in-person sessions, so you can choose what works best for your schedule and preferences.
Therapy in Texas can be expensive without insurance. Using your in-network benefits is one of the most reliable ways to reduce what you pay out of pocket. On Headway, you can enter your insurance details to see estimated session costs before you book, and many patients pay as low as $0 per session. Nationally, Headway partners with over 100 insurance plans, making it easier to find a therapist who fits your needs and your budget.
