I'm a gentle and insightful therapist with an approach that is effective, impacting, and can help you bring about change and transformation in your life and relationships
I am a licensed clinical psychologist. My approach to therapy is adaptable and largely dependent on the client's needs. I believe strongly in the mind-body connection and I enjoy discovering unique approaches to mindfulness that are best suited to each individual client.
I have experience treating clients of all ages. I have experience treating mood disorders, PTSD, gender transition, families, sleep issues, Autism, anger issues, men's issues, career counseling, life transitions, addiction, and grief. I am certified in Psychedelic Assisted therapy. I provide psychedelic integration sessions for clients following treatments.
I have an open, casual style to help clients feel at ease and open to letting me hold space for them. I am intuitive about matching my energy to the client's. We could be laughing one minute and crying the next. Sometimes you want to vent, sometimes you want to problem solve, and I am here to support you
I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works with teenagers and older and I believe that the therapeutic relationship is vital to the success of therapy. I have years of experience working with children, teenagers and young adults, focusing on anxiety, depression, ADHD, and trauma. My approach is to be open-minded, compassionate, supportive and encouraging with an end goal to help you develop the coping skills or address the issue to be able to navigate life to its fullest. My goal is to challenge you while offering a non-judgmental space for you to process feelings and discover your inner self.
I earned my graduate degree in Social Work at the University of South Carolina and my undergraduate at Iowa State University in Child Adult and Family Studies and Psychology. My background includes years in settings working with at-risk youth, school social work and more recently in person at an equine therapy agency working with teenagers and adults. All of these experiences have shaped how I view mental health and how important it is to treat the whole person.
I am currently accepting new clients. Great to meet you, and thanks for considering me as you take this next step. Simply being here says a lot, so give yourself credit for showing up for yourself. I’d be honored to walk alongside you as we work toward the changes you’re hoping for. You don’t need to have it all figured out to begin, and you don’t have to do it alone. Let’s get started, together.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, parent coach, and former educator with 36 years of experience helping children, teens, parents, couples, and families move from conflict and overwhelm to greater calm, confidence, and connection.
I specialize in working with families navigating autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, school challenges, and family conflict. I also help parents reduce daily power struggles, improve communication, and respond with greater confidence and consistency.
I believe lasting change happens by looking at the whole picture—not just the symptoms. My work considers the child, the parent, the family system, and the school environment to identify the patterns that keep families stuck. Together, we develop practical, individualized strategies that create meaningful, lasting change.
What can clients expect from their first session with you?My goal in our first session is to help you feel comfortable, heard, and supported. We'll talk about what's bringing you in, explore the challenges you're facing, and identify what's keeping you or your family feeling stuck.
There is no pressure to have everything figured out. We'll move at a pace that feels right for you. Together, we'll begin identifying patterns, clarify your goals, and create practical next steps that feel realistic and manageable.
Whether you're seeking support for yourself, your child, your relationship, or your family, you'll leave our first session with a better understanding of what's happening and a clear direction for moving forward.
Hi there, I'm Leigh!
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor and certified Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapist with 17 years in the Mental and Behavioral Health Field, 11 of those as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor. I have been trained in a number of empirically supported as well as alternative modalities and approaches to meet you where you are on your journey, including but not limited to EMDR, Somatic approaches, Internal Family Systems, DBT, and Solution Focused Interventions.
With decades of experience, I am well-versed in many different modalities. No one approach works for everyone, so I built a large tool kit to have a broad range of tools available. Areas of expertise include individual, couples and family counseling, trauma recovery, anxiety, depression, special needs of gifted and talented, medical social work, impact of illness, traumatic brain injury, grief and bereavement, positive aging, geriatrics and end of life issues. Having been raised in a military family I enjoy working with our veterans, active duty personnel and their families.
I have found my own personal healing to be intimately connected to nature, and it is here that I believe that we can all begin to rediscover our intrinsic humanity and let go of those things that distract us from our higher selves. In my spare time, I work as an outdoor educator and manage my own private practice and guide Outdoor Retreats
I believe it is helpful and important to translate what is discussed in session and in telehealth meetings into lived experience and real change.
Two decades of clinical excellence.
Dr. Cindy Ruelas-Tafolla's path to becoming a clinician began at age 13 with the sudden loss of her father — an experience that planted the seed of her life's purpose: to be the kind of support she needed during her own darkest moments.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Law and Society from UC Santa Barbara, her Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California, and her Doctorate in Social Work (DSW) from USC.
Over two decades, she has served as a Medical Social Worker, Case Manager, and Behavioral Health Therapist — bringing doctoral-level depth, board-certified credentials, and genuine compassion to every client she works with.
